THE health bills coming out of Congress would put the de cisions about your care in the hands of presidential appointees. They'd decide what plans cover, how much leeway your doctor will have and what seniors get under Medicare.
Yet at least two of President Obama's top health advisers should never be trusted with that power.
Start with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research.
*snip*
Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).
*snip*
Emanuel, however, believes that "communitarianism" should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia" (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. '96).

This administration is truly scary.

He only has 3.5 years to destroy what is left of the former United States of America.

Perhaps the good "Herr Doktor" would do well to remember just the part of the Hippocratic Oath that says, "Above all, do no harm."

Yeah but it doesn't apply to Obama and his czars.

Claire McCaskill, the Missouri Senator whose office offered such a rude reception to protesters against the Stalinization of our healthcare system, is hosting a town hall meeting on the subject this evening at 7:00. Here's the address:
St. Louis Community College — Forest Park Campus
Highlander Lounge
5600 Oakland Ave.
St. Louis, Missouri
Marxist drones have been instructed by Daily Kos to attend. If you're anywhere near St. Louis, you should too. The media would love nothing better than a scene of unanimous full-throated support for socialism to run over and over on the evening news.

I wonder what more the good doctor wants to put in place---and offend even more people.
You know Sara Polin has a good gripe here against his thinking with the idea that her baby should not be given medical attention or even allowed to be born .
This is a made in heaven chance for her to speak out against the Doctor and get everyone Republican or Democrat that is over 60 years old, youth that has a family history of early onset diabetes, family's with a self functioning blind child, a child with an IQ under 100, then all the immigrants that can now legal or illeagle get medical care for their ageing parents they have brought to this country.-----OOPS, to get medical everyone cannot be over weight by 15 ponds.
That doctor is just one of millions that subscribe to " Life For the Fittest."
