Title: interpretation of a dream needed
Post by: franksolich on July 23, 2009, 08:21:46 PM
Okay, now this is serious business.

Well, sort of.

Just like any other human, I have all sorts of dreams, from the mundane to the weird.

My favorite dreams are those where I, by chance or accident, outwit people who think they're smarter than I am, but never mind those dreams.  Dreams involving espionage and counter-intelligence too, but never mind those dreams.

My dreams tend to be in wide-screen Technicolor.

Music, or what I imagine is music, but no dialogue.

Anyway, the most common sort of dream--and the past several months, they've gotten frequenter and frequenter--is where, in no particular situation or setting, I find I can jump half my body length, say a little over three feet, into the air, and slowly glide upward, to about twice my body length.  I float, not soar, and can twist and turn and somersault, and then gracefully come back to the ground.

After which I do it again, floating, coasting, gliding, twisting, turning, weightless as the air itself.  I'm never in the air long--it's not like I'm flying from Omaha to St. Louis, for example--but long enough to do some slow-motion gymnastics.

I never crash; I always simply float gracefully to the ground.

Dreams as prophecies is of course utter nonsense, but there is Freudian significance in dreams.  Anybody care to speculate?

You're either moving to the Moon...or you're turning into a DUmmy?   :clueless:

Just kidding, frank.   :lmao:

I wish one of the lurking primitives would register here, and tell me.

As you know, madam, the primitives are experts, so-called, at this sort of thing.

It means that Ann Coulter is going to put on 20 pounds, drive to Nebraska, find the pile of pig shit, climb onto of that pile, then declare her undying love for you.  Then she will have hot juicy monkey love for the next 50 years with you.  Congratulations! :cheersmate:

It means you have no major problems weighing you down..and you are FREE...or at least feel free.  I think it's a positive dream...

Either that, or you're living an alternative reality somewhere else as a wannabe superhero. :-)

No "hero" part, nobody in peril needing saved.

I just step outside and leap into the air.

Frank, Freud would say that any dream in which you leave the ground (fly) can be said to have reference to some unfullfilled sexual desire on your part.

Of course, just about everything was sexual in nature to that particular fruitcake, so I guess in reality, your dream could mean just about anything.

It's actually a very common dream element, Frank, it does have to do with either a feeling of freedom and empowerment OR a feeling that you need them, so it is rather ambiguous as to significance (Which isn't all that vastly much, either way).
