Incidentally, "sharps" might be confusing to some here.
franksolich defines "sharps" as flea-market and antique dealers who think they're sharp and clever, and pulling something over the eyes of a seller.
The vindictive primitive, below, is definitely a sharp. If she showed up at some sale franksolich was holding, franksolich would kick his leg as far as the thigh up her rectal asperture; it might even solve her hip-replacement problem.
franksolich likes sharps as much as he likes primitives.
Anyway.

The Price Police
Anyone else ever get this? You list an item on eBay or CraigsList for the price you need to get to turn a modicum of profit, and some wise-ass e-mails you to say they can get the same thing (or something like it) for less at Wal-Mart/K-Mart/Sam's/what-have-you. I always have the urge to reply with, "So mind your own business and get it there. Be happy." But I realize that might spark a back-and-forth which is totally not worth my time. I wonder about how much time others have on their hands, though.
However, there's a positive angle also - because if my own supplier runs out of that particular item, I can apparently get it for less at Wal-Mart/K-Mart/Sam's/what-have-you. So in effect these lamers are kind-of doing us a service.
So.....that's the way primitives price things, based upon how much it cost them?
Greedy materialistic primitives, trying to get more than something's worth.
If franksolich had a goat-collector, for example, that cost him $25, franksolich is not interested in getting $25+ for it. franksolich is interested only in getting rid of the goat-collector, a ridiculous item for which he has no use. If he has to price it at 50 cents so someone will buy it, franksolich prices it at 50 cents, and considers himself having gotten the better of the deal.
Primitives are so stupid.
The vindictive primitive, who imagines herself sharp:

1. I haven't had that happen, but I'd tell the wiseass that some people live in places where there are no Walmarts, etc., and they're very happy to buy the stuff off ebay and have the post office deliver it.

2. Haven't had that happen - yet.
If they feel that way - why do they bother to even leave a message?
I've looked at items and thought the same thing, but just moved on.
jerks
The jerks are primitives who, because they paid $5 for a lemon, think they're "entitled" to get at least $5 for it when they want to get rid of it.

3. I have, although the items I have are rather unique
The individual wrote to me saying they found the same thing on EBAY for far cheaper.
I personally checked the claim out to see the proof and was unable to find "the identical items".
I am just left with the impression that they were trying to get me to lower the price to rock bottom when no other items existed like the items I had for sale.

Well, that's what I'm thinking.

The first thing I thought of was what we call "sharps" in the hospital: needles, scalpels, scissors, etc.
As in, "Sharps should not be left lying around the mentally ill, such as the denizens of DU."
-
Strange one of them feels this way seeing how they are in hysterics since they think that healthcare should be made cheaper for them.
Wonder why they don`t just suggest someone go to Canada to get it if that is the same for less.
Idiots.

In the lab where I used to work, "sharps" meant the same thing--or the boxes we put the stuff in when it was to be thrown out.

Is there some kind of inside joke that I am unaware of ??
New England is a hot bed for junk that costs a fortune today and grandma threw out years ago,
I am wondering about Frank and his goat tender, Not that I own goats at this time but one never knows when one will have a need for such. Make an interesting Xmas present, imagine the joy as your kid rips into the package Xmas EVE, wow, mom, just what I wanted a goat tender.
So what is the point that Frank was trying to make? Sigh, yes right over my head.
BTW, I called the old man that has a Piper Cub in his barn all wrapped up and told him to forget selling the plane for scrap, thanks to those that alerted me to the value of that thing.

It's a jab at the fact that the primitives are always complaining about ANYONE making a profit on ANYTHING.......at least until THEY have something that they think they get a few bucks out of. At that point it's "******* repuke fundies are undercutting me!!111!!1!!"

Exactly....capitalist are evil, profiteering, scum of the earth, leeching off the labors of the oppressed working class DUmmie.....that is until one of them sees a chance to make a profit, then it's alright.

WTH is a goat tender?

WTH is a goat tender?
I have no idea, but if I had one, I'd sell it for fifty cents, even if it had cost me twenty bucks, just to get rid of it.
It's laughable, the way the primitives insist they HAVE to charge at least as much as what they had originally paid for something.
The purpose of garage sales is to get rid of junk, not to windfall profits.
