Conservative kiosk not allowed at mall

CONCORD, N.C. -- "Impeach Obama."

"Al Qaeda's favorite days: 9/11/01 and 11/04/08."

"Work Harder. Obama needs the money."

The bumper stickers and posters sold at "Free Market Warrior" at Concord Mills are meant to be "biting," the kiosk's owner Loren Spivack said.

At least one passerby found them racist and bigoted, and took time to tell the mall in a letter and a letter to the editor of the Charlotte Observer.

Whatever your opinion, the fact is this: At the end of July, Free Market Warrior will not be allowed at Concord Mills Mall. The kiosk chain's owner shared e-mail correspondence with NewsChannel 36 that explains that the mall management has decided that the items sold are not "neutral" enough. The lease will be allowed to expire July 31, 2009 without an option to renew.

Yep.  That's right folks.  Anyone who does not worship Lord Zer0 is a racist.   :whatever:

Simon Properties is the same outfit that decided to not let a tea party be held on their premises in Atlanta, and so the event was moved to, apparently, a bigger and better place.

One wonders if they would allow anti-President Bush bumpers stickers and the like.

When I go to the mall, I see lots of pro-Obama tee-shirts, books, posters, etc. Even though I am a staunch conservative, it does not bother me to see such things, and I would not dream of complaining to the mall management, etc. Why does it not work the other way? Some people are too  consumed with politics. There's so much more to life.

Another displaced yankee causing problems....we should deport them back up north.

If I were rich, I'd build a huge shopping mall....call it "REDNECK SQUARE". We'd sell boats, guns, pickups, campers, survival gear and PRO-America stuff..... and of course, confederate flags galore.....we'd run specials, 10% off for republicans, 50% off for true conservatives and "you ain't got enough money" for liberals. Maybe make it a gun free zone, put up a sign "If you ain't packing, you ain't shopping here". Ash trays for the smokers that have Obama's face in the bottom and spittoons that look like.....nevermind.

Conservative Kiosk Owner Denied New Lease at North Carolina Mall

The owner of kiosk that sells conservative merchandise in a North Carolina mall won't get to continue pushing "Impeach Obama" bumper stickers after his lease expires Friday.

The Concord Mills mall decided not to renew its contract with Loren Spivack, who fought to stay in business in the shopping center.

Spivack says his kiosk, Free Market Warrior, is being nudged out for purely political reasons.

After meeting with officials from the Concord, N.C., mall Tuesday afternoon, the two sides could not reach an agreement to keep the 8-foot-long kiosk where it was.

"Mr. Spivack has not agreed to remove the objectionable merchandise and will be moving out of Concord Mills at the end of his lease," a statement from the mall said.

It is not that they're "too consumed with politics" that causes the problem.

It's the fact that they refuse to allow any opinion that differs from their own.

You know. Just the same thing the left accuses the right of at every possible opportunity.

There were protest last week about them throwing him out. One was a little old lady of 80 years....she was a spunky little thing. They have relented somewhat. There agreed to let him stay if they could...review...what he was going to have for sale....in other words, they wanted the ability to control what he's selling. I can't say that I'd disagree with that if it were pornography or vulgar stuff but they want to cleanse the anti-Obama stuff....so he's moving out Friday.

Quite a few people that I know that have shopped/bought there say they'll never go back.....suits me, I've never been there the first time.

I wonder how Simon Group would feel if we organized a "Stop Shopping Simon" campaign?

I wonder how Simon Group would feel if we organized a "Stop Shopping Simon" campaign?

If shoppers have a problem with stores that sell items they find offensive, where are the Jews, Seventh day Adventives and Muslims complaining about the mall stores that sell gift baskets of cheese and pork sausages.----Hickory Farms.

Check out the small kiosks that sell jewelry that has a pot leaf on it.

I have seen old Lady's gasp in awe in front of Victoria's Secrets,  men and boys wearing that hat that defines them as Muslim stand looking in the window of that store holding their package.

Malls are fun, it is seldom that a mall will bar a seller due to complaints as long as they pay their rent.

Malls are for everyone, there are enough customers to keep Spencer's going strong----That is where I buy Xmas cards for my way out friends.

There is much more to this story then we know at this time, Follow the money.

Hot Topix is cheap Chinese made crap sold to pre-pubescent teens for exorbitant prices.  So a twelve year old can run around in a LedZep Swan Song t-shirt ...without ever having heard "In My Time of Dying"  :-)
