White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told The New York Times Obama intends to use the news conference as a "six-month report card," to talk about "how we rescued the economy from the worst recession" and the legislative agenda moving forward, including health care and energy legislation.

You do that, Skippy and as the economic data continues to worsen we'll hang your multi-trillion dollar albatrosses around your foolish neck.

EDIT: Bah! Wrong forum, can someone punt this to Politics.

True, Dead Fish and King Zero are two of the biggest DUmmies around.

I really don't know why they think this is a good plan, to tell bald-faced lies on camera.  I guess they don't see all those YouTubes going around with the public bursting into either laughter or boos at some elected official or other spouting off hot air about healthcare, energy & the economy.  We're not buying it, jugears.

At tonight's presser Obama will focus on "how we rescued the economy from the worst recession" (NYT)

Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, said in an interview that the president intended to use the news conference as a “six-month report card,” to talk about “how we rescued the economy from the worst recession” and the legislative agenda moving forward, including health care and energy legislation, which squeaked through the House and faces a tough road in the Senate.

Now the thread has a primitive link, so it can stay.

1. Not a good move

To me, it seems a little early to say that - kind of like spiking the ball on the five yard line. Unemployment is still rising and could well go into double digits. That statement could bite him in the ass a year from now if the employment picture remains bleak.

6. The state of the nation's economy is improving - It's a question of trajectory.

The question is how swiftly improvements occur and how long it takes certain measures of economic health to reflect recovery (read: employment numbers).

I think this is a terrific, bold move by the President. Clearly, we were at the precipice, and about to take the tragic leap. With his leadership, we are back to safe (albeit shaky) ground.

The current and projected trajectory is DOWN, jeff_dumb primitive.  But you are correct in that any path Dear Leader has in store for this country would be a "tragic leap."  Safe ground?  No, we've run away from that towards idiots who view things as you do.

He better "hope" that tingle isn't a blood clot running up his leg or the "change" of being stuffed in a snowbank like an old Eskimo might not make him very happy.

Yeah, it started sometime last year and hasn't stopped yet.

Seek immediate medical attention if you have an erection or leg tingle lasting more than four hours.  If thinking of Obama, four seconds, and then punch yourself in the testicles.

Will all the broadcast networks carry this, or have they realized 0Bama is a ratings killer?  Fortunately the 2 shows I watch on Wednesdays are on cable. :)

If the DUmmies think the 'O'conomy is better now than it was they are incredibly blind.  IF they get their wish of FREE medical care, which will cost ALL of us a tremendous amount then any little blip they might have seen in the 'O'conomy will be wiped out completely.
