Missouri car dealer offers free AK-47 with new truck
BUTLER, Mo. | Buy a truck and get a free AK-47 gun.
That's the deal a Missouri truck dealer is offering new customers who buy a pickup truck in August.
Mark Muller, owner of Max Motors in Butler, says he knows people will be bothered by the promotion.
But not to worry, Muller is not handing out free guns. Instead, he will give buyers a voucher to use at a gun store after they obtain a license to carry a concealed weapon.
The AK-47 is an upgrade on a previous promotion in which Muller gave away vouchers for the price of a Caltec pistol.
The retail value of an AK-47 is $450, but Muller says customers can spend their voucher on the gun of their choice.

The primitives whine and complain, but there's nothing new in that, so I'll quote just the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher.

8. I copied the headline word for word cause so many here claim there is no such thing as an AK-47 or that we don't understand what that is. Maybe someone can explain what this gun is and why the hell anyone in Butler, MO needs one.
What's next? Buy a van and get a missile launcher for your front yard?
I dunno.
I'll bet if the truck dealer was offering a coupon good for a free abortion, the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher would be all for it.

17. Is it correct to assume they can't be concealed either?

34. I am trying to understand why the car dealer is insisting the buyers have a CCW
Direct your snark at him.
And then this, at the end, from the primitive formerly known as the "D_S" primitive, whoever that primitive was:

32. I love it!
This is just an awesome big fat "blow me" gesture at the Brady Campaign that I wish more buisnesses would do something like this.

So they fight off the carjackers obviously. They need to make sure there is lojack in the stock

The dysmenopausal school teacher's comment of this:

Got me thinking. When I was an adolescent, I didn't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of neighbors who would have killed for this. Matter of fact, my father--and I, who was tasked with lawn upkeep--would have wanted at least one TOW-IIA launcher.

$450???
Guess they haven't priced AK's lately.

But the coupon's good for any firearms purchase, not just an AK.
What's on the firearms market that's good for $450?
-
Of course the chance one of these truck buyers will actually buy an authentic Kalashnikov is pretty low, the chance any of them will have a fully automatic weapon is near zero. But the funny thing is that DUmmies always speak of an AK-47 as a weapon of fearsome power. They do not want to admit that all their neighbors who are hunters have for many decades been using rifles far more powerful, far more accurate, and far more deadly.
The absolute only things in the AK's favor are a reputation for working when it's dirty, and that it's very, very cheaply made. For ragtag militias, cheap is good. Dirty and cheap firearms hold no attraction for most American gun owners. AK is also a handy term for gun grabbing democrats to use.
Mention of a concealed carry permit confirms the truck dealer knows no more about firearms than the DUmmies. A real deal was the bank in Colorado that used to give away Weatherby rifles if you bought a CD at very low or no interest.

I dunno. I hear of price spikes because of huge demand

SKSes are waaaay up there now, too.

I consider the AK as the lowest end of assault rifles. They're junk! Cheaply made, ugly, and have a tendency to misfire. I guess they're only use is to third world dicks who can't afford the good stuff!
-
OK.....DUmmies only get a toaster.

I have a yugo underfolder AK, it is not cheaply made and it has NEVER misfired unlike my AR-15.

meh, its just a sales gimmick - an auto dealer up here is running a ' Buy a Honda, get a Honda ' special -- Buy any new Honda, and included with it is a Honda lawnmower. I think the reason he is advertising AK-47 is that it's recognizable by anyone. Like Jello is - It doesn't matter who made the gelatin dessert, it's Jello. - its has nothing to do with the quality of the (now outdated) weapon - to the average Joe, AK-47 means 'badass gun'. not 'outdated, cheaply made weapon thats prone to jamming and misfiring'.

Oh, if I lived there and was in the market for a new truck, I'd go there just on principle. Besides, you gotta love anyone who can shake up the ants!

A nice used full-sized automatic pistol in 9mm, 10mm, or .45 ACP; a receiver only for a very nice .308 main battle rifle; one-half of a very nice AR, either the upper or lower; a Kel-Tec concealed-carry pistol such as a PF-9 and some great extras for it; a 'very good' condition Mossberg 500/590-series pump shotgun and a spare tactical-length barrel for it. Many, many other possibilities.
But as for me, I'd buy a hundred-thousand miler, pocket most of the savings, and then blow some change on tools, parts, and eventually a gun or two.
-
I wonder if they'll let you put the $450 toward CCW training or paperwork. I think that would be a better use for the money... most gun shops around handle their own training.

yugo underfolder AK
Still, isn't it stamped parts rather than forged? Sorry, but stamped as opposed to forged is like lead and steel. I'd much rather have the steel!

I saw forged AK receivers going for as much as $300 three or four years ago. I can't imagine its improved since then.

My AK has never had a malfunction. Never. One of these days I might even clean it. I have a Norinco. :-)

Er......I have a Romanian AK clone (stamped receiver....SAR1) that with the addition of a 50 dollar fire control group, a little sight alignment, and a $2 recoil buffer is a "tack driver" at 100 meters, and I've run 5000 rounds of everything through it, US, Russian, Chinese, Yugo surplus........ all kinds of ammo through it, and have never had a jam or misfire.......I clean it once a year whether it needs it or not, and if the SHTF, it would be the first gun that I would grab.......Total investment $297.
There is a reason that it is arguably the most successful design in combat arms in the past five decades........
ON EDIT: I also have a Bushmaster AR-15 20" A-4, and although it is a fine rifle, and a versatile system, I'd still grab the AK first
