CAMDEN, N.J., July 13 (UPI) -- Authorities in Camden County, N.J., say they do not know how a 21-year-old Arkansas transgender woman died in a home where voodoo rituals took place.
Jason Laughlin, a Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman, said authorities were awaiting the toxicology reports from an autopsy on Lucille Hamilton of Little Rock, Ark., to determine what caused the her death Sunday, Gannett New Jersey reported Monday.
Laughlin said Hamilton, whose death is not being considered suspicious, was staying with six other people at a Camden County home for the weekend to take part in a voodoo ritual. Specific details of the ritual were not reported. ...

When I think of New Jersey the last thing to come to mind is voodoo rituals.

Arkansas transgender...and not a mention of the Clintons anywhere either. But, as I tighten the tinfoil beanie, I'm just sayin...

I have that crawly feeling here when I read this. Sort of a YIKES moment.
A week or so ago they found the body of a 2 year old girl in a garbage bag in a river with another bag of severed chicken heads.
Problem is the child had died and been buried back in 2007. When the grave was dug up the casket was empty and the ground undisturbed, the child had to have been grave robbed shortly after the funeral.
The ME. stated she was in a remarkables state of preservation.
The forum site discussing this most horrid event for the family were all convinced that Voodoo was involved, not some satanic cult.

Grisly. Surely someone will investigate the funeral home, it would be difficult to pull that off without inside help.

Grisly. Surely someone will investigate the funeral home, it would be difficult to pull that off without inside help.
Funeral homes and cemetery's are getting the worse publicity these days.
In my area a funeral home was found to have human remains stashed in food lockers, death certificates signed by doctors that never saw the body. One out of state home had a storage area piled to the ceiling with shoe boxes full of the cremated remains of people whose family's never picked them up. The boxes had become damp and broken open, there were ashes 6 inches deep on the floor.
Then the cemetery in the news today that dug up the bodies of the long time deceased dumped the remains in a common grave and resold the plot.
There was a huge uproar in VA. Richmend area when state workers widening a road that went past a funeral home began to discover plastic bags full of body organs buried on the property.
My favorite since I had a cadaver bone implanted into my leg, was the funeral home that sold human bones to the medical field and replaced the taken bone with PVC pipe.
The problem was disease, these implants could have come from someone with Aids, TB or whatever, they were NEVER checked out as to the source.
One does not need to read Stephen King to find horror, just read the news paper.

LUCILLE HAMILTON paid $621 to have her "spiritual grime" removed by a voodoo high priest in an ordinary townhouse on a winding street in Camden County, a friend said.
Hamilton, 21, a male living as a woman, flew in on Friday from her home in Little Rock, Ark., to the house on Loch Lomond Drive in Gloucester Township, friends said, to take part in a three-day spiritual cleansing referred to on the priest's Web site as "Lave Tet."
By Saturday night Hamilton was dead, and authorities are awaiting results of an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine exactly what happened. No charges have been filed.
"I'm still trying to find a scenario that makes sense," said Billie Miller, Hamilton's boss at Arkansas Flag and Banner, in Little Rock. "I can't come up with anything that makes sense."
Miller said Hamilton was a devout Catholic, with an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe tattooed on her foot, but was also interested in voodoo. She said Hamilton - who used the name Lucie Marie on Facebook - had been saving money to travel to New Jersey, but was not planning to undergo a sex change.
"She was very spiritual and beautiful, too," said Miller. "She was not there for some dark purpose. She wasn't depressed; in fact, you couldn't meet a more upbeat person."
The voodoo priest identifies himself as Houngan Hector on his Gade Nou Leve Society Web site, which says the three-day Lave Tet ceremony was to begin Friday.
Lave Tet (from the French laver tete) literally means head-washing, according to several Haitian voodoo Web sites. Hector's site describes it as a ceremony that begins with cleansing, after which participants lie in a "badji," or altar room, before being "baptized."
