Title: A guitar fool and thier money...part 12.
Post by: BadCat on July 13, 2009, 11:19:01 AM
Ok I love Gibson guitars.  I have so much Gibson mahogany, DUmmies weep over the devastation caused to the rain forest...BUT...this is just something else...

Quote
Gibson Custom Billy Gibbons "Pearly Gates" 1959 Les Paul Aged/Signed Electric Guitar (Billy Gibbons Burst)

Yeah, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) is a great guitarist, and his '59 Les Paul dubbed "Pearly Gates" is a classic in guitar tone, but the price on this baby....

$17999 - Vintage Original Spec, "Aged" and signed by Billy.
$10999 - Vintage Original Spec, "Aged"
$7999   - Vintage Original Spec

Now, "Aged" means Gibson puts the same scratches and scuffs on it as on the one Billy owns.
Who the hell wants a guitar with fake scratches and scuffs???  I FREAK out big time if I scratch or scuff one of my Gibsons...why would I want to pay for a guitar that comes WITH them?

Oh well...rant for the day.  Oh here's the guitar...with scratches and scuffs...mind you this is a BRAND NEW GUITAR that is going to set you back 11 grand.

Really.  I have a friend who was all happy because he got Slash (Guns 'n Roses / Velvet Revolver) to sign his Les Paul (with a Sharpie).

I just said "Dude, some asshole wrote all over your guitar!"
