I think it's a fake story, and those "racist comments" were planted by leftwing nuts to create a story. Newser links to Daily Kos and Huffpo which are fanning the flames. Can't FR trace such comments to prove the comments were made by trolls?

Newser Summary) – The latest racist screeds against the Obamas on a right-wing website have a new target: Malia. "Ghetto street trash" was just one of the ugly comments posted on the Free Republic site about President Obama's 11-year-old daughter after she was photographed last week wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with a peace sign, reports the Vancouver Sun. A picture of Michelle Obama talking to Malia was captioned: "To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds."
The Huffington Post took Sun writer Chris Parry to task for slavishly reporting the cringe-inducing comments on the "paleo-site." The Free Republic first yanked the comments, then edited and restored some of them following questioning by the Daily Kos. Free Republic owner Jim Thompson eventually conceded on the site: "We should steer clear of Obama's children. They can't help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist."

Of course, Huffpo's faux outrage just brings more attention to the Sun's story. When I saw the peace symbol t-shirt on Malia, my first thought was why her parents let her wear that in such an international photo op? I thought it was disrepectful to the troops we have in war zones :(

.......because underneath that was her Che T-shirt?......
Just fashion, baby!

There was a sizable discussion on this over at TOS.
Bothers me that some there thought it was justified simply because libs did it to the children of conservative politicians.

I'm sure the admins over at FR have IP logging of their posters. If they don't, they should. OTOH, it doesn't surprise me that they had liberal moles over there. The "story" that was written came out 15 MINUTES after most of the alleged racial comments were made, almost exclusively by "new" members.

Huffpo should look to cleaning up their own house before accusing others.

Of course the idiot that posted the original did apologize but only after much negative feed back.

I agree we shouldn't stoop as low and should be leaving the children out of it. With that said, the camera is on them/him ALL THE TIME and they have to think before doing something(what the kids wear or looking at a butt). Sadly, he/they ARE held to a higher standard, whether they like it or not?!

Another fake racism story that was made up and fostered by the left, who'd thunk it.

During the Scamdal four years ago, the primitives planted a few trolls on freerepublic to make comments about the late red round one that no decent and civilized person would make--the objective of course being to make freerepublic, and decent and civilized people concerned about fraud, look bad.
Ever since then, I've always been leery of comments made that seem a little too too much.
