WASHINGTON — Supporters of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor are quietly targeting the Connecticut firefighter who's at the center of Sotomayor's most controversial ruling.
On the eve of Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearing, her advocates have been urging journalists to scrutinize what one called the "troubled and litigious work history" of firefighter Frank Ricci.
This is opposition research: a constant shadow on Capitol Hill.
On Friday, citing in an e-mail "Frank Ricci's troubled and litigious work history," the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way drew reporters' attention to Ricci's past. Other advocates for Sotomayor have discreetly urged journalists to pursue similar story lines.

Well, the benevolent left is at it again. Just like Joe the Plumber, and Sarah Palin, they attack anyone who questions. Isn't this suppose to be the party that cares?

Why doesn't anyone on our side go after the members of these attack groups?

This kind of knife work is all done subtly and in the shadows, using non-attributable sources which the journalists will protect out of their so-called and rather conveniently-used "Journalistic integrity" (Sort of like 'Whore virginity' to my mind).

And with the compliant media...the Left will pull a "Joe The Plumber" on this fire fighter.
Disgusting.

Ricci was only one of several complainants in this case. Why don't they go after the Hispanic guy that was part of the case? :rotf:

Typical Leftist attack pattern - KILL THE MESSENGER !
Ricci amongst others had issued a valid complaint - they took their complaint to court as is their right to do, and ultimately the unfairly treated firefighters won after Sotomayor's decision was overturned by The Supreme Court. What they did, and how they did it was all above board and legal. But, because the decision damages Sotomayor, which in turn damages The One, the left needs to make an example of them.
It's the same thing they did to Palin and 'Joe The Plumber' - dig and discredit.
The problem is there is nobody to discredit, no potential outcome to change, no future ruling to influence. But the idiots who know only a handful of plays are going ahead with this technique anyway..All it will do is make it clear to several more people how the Obama machine works.
