Does money keep you from going to the ER when things are questionable? we need reform for healthcare
I have a bad foot
had major reconstruction surgery years ago like 14 years ago
am going to the ortho doc in Sept as it is starting to give me pretty major fits
well yesterday I rolled said foot pretty bad
it is swollen good and really painful but...
so hubby told me to go to the Dr and have it checked out
doc is out for the weekend and the office said to go to the ER
I did not go to the ER because if they don't admit you then it costs 100 dollars
I refuse to do that
I will tough it out till MOnday and go to the doctor if it is still swollen
NOW>>>we have the money, if I wanted to I could go to the ER for x-rays but I know it is not broken
HOW many people don't have that choice? How many people suffer in silence?
How many go and then owe?

How'd the greenbriar primitive break that foot?
Do you suppose it has teeth marks on it?
-
Well silly me...I figured anyone who could afford a yearly cruise could afford a visit to the ER.

Ok, so she's not going on the principal of it. I get that, but it's no reason for healthcare reform since I hate to point out the obvious to her, but if you can wait through the weekend knowing it's not broken then it probably wasn't an emergency to begin with now was it. The 100.00 fee was probably there to encourage people who could really wait to wait. BTW, usually if you call your doctor's office first you can get that 100 bucks waived by the insurance company. They know you have checked in, the doctor doesn't have weekend hours and has REFERRED you to the ER. I'm not sure what they do, but I think the triage for insurance and care must mark something on their forms that says doctor referral and it makes a difference, but I think the doctor will still have to sign or approve it when it comes to waiving it so no fudging it for the dummies looking to fraud out on that.
And to top it all off, she can afford the damn fee. Wtf does she need 'free' healthcare? So she has even MORE discretionary income to buy purses and cruises and charity groceries? :whatever: Sadly, I think she is the norm of why people want 'free' 'necessities'. They want more discretionary income--it's not even that they can't afford the necessities, they just don't want to have to pay for them. Pitiful.
Anyone notice she is in 'pain' again. Need more meds?

Maybe this ER wont give her whatever narcotic she is craving.
The greenbriar primitive is like House without the wit and intelligence.

I thought it was selling some stuff so it could pay off a high interest credit card.
As an aside ..... I wonder if the foot being reconstructed had anything to do with an accident which it used to sue someone whereby coming up with all the money it claims to have ..... just a thought.

Yeah, and under the "government" healthcare plan, she would never have gotten the original surgery and her current complaint would be answered by "take two aspirin - you can see a podiatrist in about 3 years".

In this case the fee worked. She is the reason the cost of this stuff would go through the roof if it was free to the patient.

Oh greenbriar is alternatively rich or poor, showered with gifts and affection or saddled with an abusive drunk, depending on her whim, the quality of her meds and how much attention she wants to garner.

It's all a lie...if she has a f'd up ankle she should have the braces from the prior injury. ya slap a brace on it and wait till the Dr is in....unless she is stupid enough to have(never mind...she's that stupid)

What I'm trying to figure out is this . . .
am sitting on the couch with ICE and medicine...
What's she sitting on a couch with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for, unless . . . ?

Liberals are only generous with other peoples money, never their own.
If it benefits others, let others pay for it....
If it's for themselves, let others pay for it....
