Hmmm.

A rather intriguing question, even though it's a common phenomenon on Skins's island.

What is the term for...

In the art world, is there a painting which depicts someone looking in a mirror and seeing himself looking in a mirror, and this pattern is repeated until, presumably, infinity?

If so, is there a name for this "over the shoulder" perspective?

2. I will never forget the first time I realized that was possible.

I was a kid of about eight or nine sitting in my aunt's kitchen, and nearby was a brown grocery bag from the local supermarket. It had a little cartoon printed on it of a supermarket employee cheerfully carrying a bag of groceries from that market with a big smile on his face. The bag he was carrying, of course, had a little cartoon of him on it, carrying a bag. And then I thought, "And that bag would have a cartoon on it of him carrying a bag...and THAT bag would..."

Freaked me right out.
