Week-by-week, world event-by-world event, the public humiliation of Hillary Clinton is taking place right before our eyes. Actually, not before our eyes. Hillary has gone missing.
There was a time when United States Secretaries of State were front and center in foreign policy making and implementation. Our first Secretary of State was Thomas Jefferson, and other historical luminaries included John Quincy Adams, Daniel Webster, William Jennings Bryant, and George C. Marshall. In more modern times, names such as Henry Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, James Baker, Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell, and Condolezza Rice loom large in our psyche and history.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? Who? Possibly the most marginalized Secretary of State in modern times.
Barack Obama has not permitted Hillary to participate in a central manner in any of the major diplomatic events, including the upcoming Moscow summit from which Hillary will be notably absent. Obama doesn’t act alone in foreign affairs, but he certainly doesn’t act through Hillary.
If the federal government were, say, the City of Chicago, Hillary’s status would rate about as high as the Director of the Department of Tourism. Sometimes seen, occasionally heard, but almost never consulted. Sure, Hillary is nice enough, but, being nice enough only gets you so far.

Pretty much what most of us thought was 0Bama's motive for making her Sec. of State. By the next election , she'll have been replaced as being ineffective at her current job, and be out of politics.

I'll see your $5 and raise you $10.
I think Hillary will be out of Lord Zero's administration before a year is up (she, along with Gates). And she's too egotistical to simply slide off into the greasy sunset. She has a pretty formidable fan club and they know how to be vocal. As soon as she escapes Lord Zero's clutches, she'll be back in there some kind of way.
She won't be able to outwardly bash Lord Zero, since she still needs the party's support, but she won't sit back idly and watch Lord Zero make an ass of himself without a comment once in awhile.
She can't help it. She's a narcissist in her own right.

Which explains a lot about the DVD and I-Pod ****-ups, among a multitude of other opportunities for pissing off our allies.

The person who's job it is to oversee that kind of thing was just hired a few weeks ago.
It took them that long to find a Democrat that had paid her taxes.

Hillary just had surgery to repair a shattered elbow, that she broke a week or so ago.
Not that she was doing that much prior, but I'd say that will keep her out of the "loop" even moreso. Haven't even heard a peep how her surgery went....but then, haven't heard much of anything except Michael Jackson.
Maybe after tomorrow....the real news will be back on.... ::)

I've heard that Hillary is to meet with Zelaya in the next few days or so, not sure where since he is trying to get back into Honduras.

Zelaya is flying around trying to pickup passengers and find a place to wellstone. Maybe Hillary can hitch a ride.

I agree that Hillary will be out as SofS soon, but it will be because she wants to engage Obama in a primary fight. The driving force for all of this is Bill Clinton. If Hillary can't be the President (and Bill have his share of young female interns), then no Dem will survive long in the WH, as long as Bill is around.

Which tact will she use to make her break:
A) "Obama is too naive on international matters and must be challenged for the good of the nation and global security"
B) "It was fun to play but now I want to be prez"
C) something else
I don't see choice B) because that would look petulent and spiteful and Hillary is smart enough to know this. She needs a crisis--real or manufactured...and Obama provides plenty of real--to gain the persona of sympathetic lone wolf crusader bucking the system.
It'll make a helluva movie too.
Susan Sarandon can play Hillary.

Oh! Oh! [Waves both arms frantically] Pick Me to play Bill! [/DUmmie Tim Robbins]

Have you all noticed, with Obumble jetting around the world, apologizing for America, the Secretary of State is nowhere to be seen? She's not even in Russia with our Communist in Chief.
Poor Hillary, she has been manipulated and effectively ostracized by the Obumble administration.
As I recall, in all previous administrations, the Secretary of State has had a quite prominent role in US relations with foreign countries.
Not any more, Obumble thinks it is HIS job.
Wonder how Hillary feels about this?
-
Maybe it's got something to do with her having a shattered elbow and recovering from surgery to repair it?
Just a thought.
-
Hillary is acting as Lord Zero's personal liaison to the wannabe dictator from Honduras. She does rank high enough to meet with the Russians yet.

Yeah, broken elbow aside, it just seems that the SoS was a lot more "prominent" in foreign relations in previous administrations.

No shit. I kind of wonder if she was set up on that "Reset button" thing?

oh, FFS. I once fought for three days with an arrow through my testicle.

Admittedly, those stone-tipped arrows of the Clovis people didn't get much penetration... :fuelfire:
