Michelle Obama - cracking under the pressure of being First Lady - is drinking way more than she should, friends fear.
Longtime pals have been keeping a close eye on her White House booze intake for months, sources told The ENQUIRER, and her husband President Barack Obama even stepped in when she recently consumed too much alcohol.
"When Barack saw Michelle drink more than she should at a recent dinner, he hit the roof. He told her, 'This is NOT going to turn into a problem!'" a close source told The ENQUIRER.
"Barack is overly sensitive to the issue because of his own past drinking and substance abuse problems. But he also feels guilty because of the pictures taken of him drinking beer at an NBA game recently."
The President also feels he may have contributed to his wife's alcohol issues by not stopping her from overindulging during their date night in New York City on May 30.
Michelle, 45, knocked back "a glass or two of champagne" while the couple flew to the Big Apple on a private jet, according to the close source, and published reports said she downed two martinis during dinner at the Greenwich Village restaurant Blue Hill.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it's the Enquirer , a tabloid. I don't wholly believe it, but I'll consider the possibility.

Yeah, the last time I flew first class, some guy a few seats from me was ordering a Bloody Mary at 8am.
It might have had something to do with the fact the drinks are free up there.

Like I said , it's the National Enquirer, but they have gotten some stories way before anyone else. Monica and the blue dress, and John Edward's love child were broke by them.
OTOH, I think that almost everyone that drinks has done some binge drinking now and then.

It's that damn right-wing media. First, you're having a couple drinks with dinner. Next, it's binge-drinking on the weekend. Pretty soon they'll have you hanging from the chandelier in the Blue Room and puking in the White House Rose Garden.

Obama has freely admitted using illegal drugs, smoking and drinking. Not only that, he's been seen drinking since being elected. Where is the outrage is right!!! If you're gonna make a big deal out of things like this, then you have to be consistent. They gave Bush no end of misery.

Many times when I would ask how many drinks a driver had imbibed, they'd often say "a couple". That's drunk speak for WAY too many. It makes sense to me that Mickey 0Bama and her managers would only confess to "a couple".

I drink out an iced tea tumbler following the FDA's Truth In Labeling guidelines. That means the ingredients must be listed in order of most to least. So, if I'm drinking a gin & tonic or a rum & coke, that tumbler will be more than half full of booze. I can honestly report "I only had two" drinks (before the blackout).
I face a wall of confusion with attempting a 7&7.

I wanted to reply to the subject of drinking in the white house----with a kicker that Carter never allowed any kind of alcohol around him and look what that got him.
However after seeing the link Toasted sent, I wonder where was I when this was going on, do I believe any of this --no. and yes.
I did a little gooling on both the pastor Jim and that Larry fellow.
Both men, telling the public that most men are bisexual, they have no controll of their sex urges and all men are this way. Could that be woman are considered evil in some cultures.?
Interesting for a female to read, it is no wonder our fathers got upset when we girls began to date. Yes I remember when my Dad had that talk, and he mentioned that he knew all about the male urge and I had to be aware of it.
Sadly he had no idea of the female urge that was just as strong if not stronger.

Yeah, and you're right, it takes us guys awhile to figure that out because mothers won't tell us about that. Even our mothers don't want us to get'n "any".
As a friend once said, "Why didn't they put that thang on a tree or a rock. Why in hell did they have to mount it on a woman." :-)
