Oh my.

You know, my fellow alum Skins as really got to do something, to bring order to Skins's island.  This is in the "General Discussion" forum when it belongs in the automotive forum over there.

Of course, we know why the primitives post in "General Discussion," and not in the specialized forums; "General Discussion" is where it's at, where it's cool to be seen, and the specialized forums aren't.

If my fellow alum enforced the rule about putting bonfires where they belong, this would mean however that Pedro Picasso would be posting only in the fantasy or conspiracy forums.

Anyway.

13. Top new cars under $15,000

So they say...

#1) 2009 Toyota Corolla - MSRP: $14,000

The Corolla is a great, reliable vehicle that is my # 1 pick for the best car under $15,000. Right now is the time to buy this car. Deals are flying straight from Toyota on these vehicles on interest rates and cash back. The car is very low maintenance, drives smooth, has power options, and extremely comfortable and safe. It is roomy enough for 5, you can get the car in some great colors and you can take it as a base vehicle or load it with different options. The new lines for 2009 are awesome and the car is very stylish and the car gets a whopping 35MPG. After driving in a Corolla, it is my # 1 pick for a great, reliable car.

#2) 2009 Toyota Yaris - MSRP $12,500

The Yaris is another great money-saving option from Toyota. It is wonderful on gas, has side curtain airbags and a standard mp3 player jack inside the vehicle. You can get the Yaris in a 2 or 4 door. The Yaris also has great safety ratings as well. The car will save you on gas and get you a nice 30MPG on average. The car has a nice hatchback design, can seat 4 comfortably, and 5 if you want your back seat passengers to feel like they are sardines. The Yaris is a great money-saving option as well and you can bet you'll end up with a reliable vehicle that will last you 4+ years without the headaches of maintenance.

#3) 2009 Honda Fit - MSRP $14,095
#4) 2009 Ford Focus - MSRP $14,200
#5) 2009 Mazda 3 - MSRP $14,500

Wait a minute! Just a week or so ago, DUmmy greenbriar was furious that her daughter had left home to live with the hated mother-in-law, more or less telling DUmmy greenbriar to go to hell.

DUmmy greenbriar vowed the daughter would get not be getting one damn dime from her. Now she's buying her a new car.

Surely DUmmy greenbriar doesn't stretch the truth. Maybe this is just a way to brag about having the means to buy a new car, something most DUmmies can only dream of.

I am no longer paying attention to this primitive because it bores me with it's stories. She has become a weak TomInTib -- instead of telling us fantastic tales of intrigue as part of Seal Team Delta, all greenbriar does is find ways to post about its income and savings.

And as a follower of Lord zer0 - she should be giving that excess cash to his causes to help the less fortunate - I wonder why she doesn't comply ?

This thread is especially amusing when one notices another thread just a few away -

There's a REASON why people drive a "clunker"

They drive a clunker because the clunker is PAID FOR, and it still runs (at least most of the time).

MOST people would LOVE to have a "new" car that gets great mileage, but when they are unsure of their jobs, in debt to their eyeballs, and every dime of their take-home pay is spoken for before they get the check, they cannot afford to part with that clunker.

They roll the dice and pray that it holds together a little while longer, and they gripe when they have to put $900 into a repair on a $1K car, but a $900 repair now and then is more "do-able" than an EVERY MONTH car payment they may not be able to "do" for 5 or 6 years.

Cars, for most people, are just a conveyance device, to get from point A to point B. They are driveway "ornaments", car-park "inhabitants", and little more.

People who LOVE cars ( I have 2 sons in this category) are not like most people. Most people just want a vehicle that gets them where they need to go, and they want it to be safe & cheap..and that's about it.

If the government's goal is to get these old cars OFF the road, to prevent pollution, they need to just BUY them outright, and mandate that after a certain date, no cars will be sold in the US that do not get at least "X" miles per gallon.

Then set another date that would prevent registration of any vehicle that did not get "X" miles per gallon (a waiver would have to be issued for the true classic show cars).

This program is just a bait & switch plan to con people into buying new cars they cannot afford, and a way to prop up the auto industry.

The incentives are not working like they did a few years ago, and this is just another incentive to coax people to sign on the dotted line.

Used cars with good gas mileage should be included, or better yet, NO replacement car would be an even better deal. There are probably many people who would sell that old car for $4500, and NOT even get another one (older people especially).

I hear the new Government Motors Crapmobile gets great mileage for just under $15,000.00. If you buy now they throw in some colorful pedal covers and extre thick steel plates for the "shoe brakes" that strap to any pair of sneekers. The bare foot steel plates are extra.

The schizo world of greenbriar, you never know what will happen in her life from one day to the next. The only constant is that she will want attention, and she has the money to take cruises and whatnot.
