I'd say Bo Jackson's hip replacement surgery was a larger detriment to their franchise during the 90's when Brett retired. Trading away players like Jermaine Dye and Johnny Damon for bargain-basement prices has proven to be their downfall during this decade.

Who, thankfully, does not need microfracture surgery on his knee, and will be out 3 to 4 weeks.  In the meantime, . . . I'll expound on the NL thread.
