ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.
The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.
Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office.
With Franken and the usual backing of two independents, Democrats will have a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibusters.
Coleman hasn't ruled out seeking federal court intervention.
Oh my.
Of course this is disheartening, but not as disheartening as it could be, as one always expected it.
Now to move on to the next election.

Yep. On the news here, too.
The citizens of Minnesota must be SO proud..... ::)
-
Once again it has been proven that ANYONE can get elected if they spend enough money....oh yea, and the voters are stupid. Al Franken :mental:
-
Thank God I'm leavin this ****ed up state
-
Well, at least we put actors in as Gov, not a has-been so-called comedian as a Senator.

Why? Franken's not going to be doing anything for the state when he's in office. He'll be exactly like his counterpart Amy Klobuchar - nothing more than another Democrat vote for the Dem leadership to steamroll their agenda through Congress.

Surely Minnesota just likes to play jokes on the rest of the country. I mean c'mon, Jesse Ventura for governor? Al Franken for a senator? It's like a Mad magazine parody.

Jesse Ventura would have made a much better senator than the buck-toothed, goggle-eyed, empty-headed, moronic, black hole stupid Franken.
Jesse at least had a brain, Al doesn't even have a clue....
I guess Minnesota didn't have any Airhead America stations. But then again, they do have Garrison Keillor, who could pass for Franken's twin brother from another mother. They look somewhat alike, and together, might have an IQ in the positive numbers....

Since franken[stein] has spent so much of his time making fun of republicans, it will be interesting to see his demeanure when he has to work in the same chamber with them every day.
Take heart, the folks in Minnesota may realize the err of their ways in 6 years and vote him out off office, OR he could crash and burn like Wellstone did - one can only hope.
-
As I said before, Good.
Let growing Anti-Democrat sentiment sweep him away at the end of his term as well. His placement doesn't really change a thing at this point, save for adding him to the list of folks who are going to take the fall because of ObaMarx.

There's more of that anger, bitterness, and DU-like behavior again, BSR. :whatever:

Jesse wasn't a bad governor. His biggest problem is that he ran his mouth too much and was often politically incorrect. He was most certainly a better alternative than what was given to Minnesota for that election.
The biggest problem with Minnesota is that the Metro area sways the vote, often in the wrong direction, regardless of what the suburbs and outstate want.. Then there's the rampant election fraud. Of course this entire past election was rife with voter fraud.

Jessie's a drooling troofer, jus sayin.
