Men Told Have Sex Daily to Boost Sperm Quality, Fertility
Daily sex can improve the genetic quality of a man’s sperm and could enhance his chances of fathering a child, new research has suggested.
Couples who are trying for a baby are often advised to have sex every other day, so that the man’s sperm count has time to recover, but scientists in Australia have discovered that this may lower some men’s fertility.
While abstaining from sex for a few days does boost sperm counts, sperm quality as well as quantity is important to male fertility and this can be damaged if a man ejaculates too infrequently.
A study at Sydney IVF, a center for infertility treatment, has found that daily sex for a seven-day period substantially improves the genetic quality of sperm, without lowering sperm counts enough to impair fertility. Scientists plan to examine whether this also affects pregnancy rates.
I wonder if they had trouble finding volunteers for this study. ::)

A study at Sydney IVF, a center for infertility treatment, has found that daily sex for a seven-day period substantially improves the genetic quality of sperm, without lowering sperm counts enough to impair fertility. Scientists plan to examine whether this also affects pregnancy rates.
Dr. David Greening, who led the research, said that for some couples, having intercourse every day during the woman’s most fertile period could make all the difference to their efforts to start a family.
The findings, which he presented Monday at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology conference in Amsterdam, could also have important implications for couples having IVF. ...

True story here.....30 years ago a cousin of mine went to the doctor with a prostate problem (no STD's thank you). The doctor gave him a prescription for some pills and told him to tell his wife to give him all the sex he could stand, it was good for the prostate. Cousin asked doctor, "Where's my prescription for the sex." Doctor wanted to know what he was talking about. Cousin says, "Well, you dang well she ain't gonna believe me if I don't have a prescription for it." Doctor wrote him one and he gave it to his wife.......you can guess how well she filled that prescription..... :rotf:

I imagine the co-pay for that prescription could be quite high these days.

I don't think you even need a significant other. It could be a bad pick-up line at a bar..."Hey baby, want to boost my sperm's quality and fertility tonight?"

Yes.

Have you been talking to my other half? :whatever:
Seriously, years ago when he had his vasectomy.....he "blew out a sidewall" as he calls it. Apparently the dr did something during the vasectomy, that caused one of the tubes(?) to block and explode. He had to have surgery to fix it. He says the vasectomy itself wasn't bad...it was the recovery from it that almost killed him. :(

OUCH! My Doc explained that the procdure he used woulden't allow that to happen nor will the tubes grow back together.
Damn I hope they don't explode. :o

I was married to a urologist for 15 yrs....that's what they all say...... ::)
Right before we got divorced....a lawyer patient of his came to see him (we went to church with him and his family) ...the wife was pregnant. :o Lab tests came back....he still had swimmers.....several years past his vasectomy.
Beware of demonic little swimmers that refuse to cease and desist...... :evillaugh:

Meh, no biggie the wife had a hystrectomy last year. I don't think any of that is growing back! :o

Ex lucked out....lawyer hubby never came back with sample to verify that all swimmers were gone.

Let me ask a co-worker to try that one out. :evillaugh: (He'd do the asking of young women in bars.)
