We had a strange thing happen to us today.
I had an appointment at the VA for a chemical stress test and it all went fine, no problems there. The story is as we, my wife and I, were walking down the hallway headed to the elevator to take us to the second floor where I needed to be.
We both seen a person go into the elevator and the elevator door close like normal but when we got there and I pushed the button to bring the elevator back to our floor and the door opened right up, no time for it to have gone anywhere, and we walked in expecting to share the ride with another person.
No one was there, we both seen this and are besides ourselves as to what just happened. Neither of us believe in ghost or the supernatural or anything like that but we both seen this person go into the elevator and the door close behind them and then 10 seconds or so later I push the button to summon the elevator and the door immediately opened and there was no one there.
This is just so strange and have us both wondering. What the hay. If it was only me who seen this or only her that seen this we would just laugh it off as one of us is nuts but that is not the case we both seen the same thing. I'm telling you it is a strange feeling, what we just experienced.

1. Some elevators have 2 sets of doors, with only employees having access to one set.

5. Not the case here
one elevator that measures about 6 foot by 6 foot with the only door taking up most of one wall. I looked and there was no other way out. We seen the figure go in and the door close behind them then a few seconds later, a few seconds, I push the button and the door opened right up and no one is there, so strange.

Like I said if it was only myself or her that thought we seen this person we would laugh it off but we both seen the same thing. Immediately we look at each other and say to one another, at the same time, did you just see that man walk in here

Oh please. If this idiot has ever used an elevator more than once, he should know that once it starts moving, an elevator will not reverse direction until it gets to where it was told to go. Obviously the "ghost" went up or down one floor, and then the elevator returned to where they were calling for it. Some elevators move really slow, but some move really fast.

Knowing that the OP is a DUmmie, I'll look at the most obvious explanation. There was a bank of elevators, and the DUmmies were mistaken as to which one they saw someone enter.

I wonder how many times this person has crapped on "rednecks" and such but can`t even once use the word "saw".

I don't know what they saw.
I saw something once, though. We were sleeping in the old (unused) hospital building on Fort Collins. I had been sick with a stomach virus. I woke up and walked out into the hall and saw something moving in what was probably a ward room at one point. It was roughly human sized and shaped, but it's features were indistinct. I noticed, while looking directly at it, that I couldn't hear it's foot steps and thought that was odd.
After it vanished from my view, I checked the other guys cots and found them all asleep. The door was locked from the inside and we had the only key to that area. I don't know what it was, and have never been able to rule out all possible scientific explanations. It was weird, though.

A high school friend used to live in an old house in Mt. Juliet, TN. He said doors would regularly open on their own, there were voices and noises, and on occasion, you would pass through a patch of extremely cold air while walking through the house.

When I was young I remember we once moved into a duplex, we all slept on the living room floor that first night. My sisters friend said she felt something scratch her, she even had red marks. We found no reason for this so we all laid back down and turned off the lights. Then there was a white cat in the hallway, it sat there for a moment and then it turned around and vanished down the hall.
We searched the whole place and found no cat or any place a cat could come in or go out of. It was very strange.
The next day we found out that a relative of my father had died.
