I just saw where it said "Upcoming Birthdays" and thought the online time was the birthday.... I guess we all have blonde moments.

Do we celebrate birthdays or mourn the shrinking of time?  Life is nothing more than an open-end lease.  Day by day we live knowing it could be the last day.  Do we celebrate birthdays to celebrate life, or to boast we made it another year? 

Were we dead before we were born?  If we were dead, we have already been dead for an eternity because eternity is just as long in the rearview as it is in the future.  Is life nothing more than an interruption of eternal death?  Or is our time on earth an interruption of what we were before but cannot remember, and what we are destined to become but cannot imagine?  Is it a transitional time?  A trial? 

Are the living on trial for a crime we did not know was possible, waiting for a verdict we did not seek?   Is it all a game?  Is our death a resumption of our natural state.  Is our life on earth unnatural to our existence?  Are birthday celebrations a way to laugh at ourselves so we will not go crazy waiting for death to reclaim us?
