Reports I saw from another board say the army is standing by, but the defenders are armed thug types.
This usually goes really badly real quickly.
This is the kind of thing the Shah had to put up with. It is now just june. Interesting to see what happens next. Things might just get hotter.

You can bet that the ones doing the shooting are not the ones protesting.

I caught his statements on Fox a few minutes ago. His criticism of a "political administration silencing an opposing opinion" was a masterpiece of bullshit and WTF-worthy.

It's gotten bad there. What was once a massive rally has decended into complete pandemonium. According to the tweets, in the past few hours, buildings (namely police stations) have been set on fire, numerous universities have been raided, tear gas and lots of gunfire, a huge gang of over a hundred people (possibly Lebanese) on motorcycles are riding in the streets causing mischief, and now it seems that tanks have been called in. I'm guessing there's a lot more than 15 people killed right now.

I swear. I wish we could invade. That's selfish, but I do.
People in this country (on both sides of the aisle) talk about the threat our government supposedly poses. At least nobody is dying (and yes, I mean whines against Bush the past so many years too).
Can I say "F Ahmadinejad?"

Heh, the guys at Twitter itself are trying to decide when to perform maintenance lest they go down at a really bad time for the Iranians.
Also, there appears to be a massive (and effective) DDOS attack on government sites, especially police sites.
