The anti-abortion movement is about controlling poor people
I do not take issue with the argument that many anti-abortionists want to control women and their lives, but I don't think that's the only motivation. I think there is more to it.

Deprive poor people of sex ed in the school (real sex ed, not abstinence only nonsense), deprive young women of birth control devices, and make abortion illegal. Now suddenly the poor are burdened with children they cannot afford, increasing the likelihood that they will stay poor.

Poor people are easier for governments to control.

Rich folks--Stepford Wives, Daddy's Little Sorority Princess, the Rich Republican CEO's mistress, etc.--can just hop a plane to another country and have the procedure done quietly, safely and legally if an unwanted pregnancy were to occur.

"Poor people are easier for governments to control," says the guy whose choice for government enslaves the poor as a means to political power.

12. Disagree
The more poor, uneducated people, the lower they can drive down wages

Says the Witch whose choice for government supports the influx of cheap, illegal laborers.

7. It's also racist... more cute little white babies
 for the aryan nation

Women of color should just go get a job and get sterilized. And oh by the way, women of color are disproportionately poor too.

Says the guy whose choice for government places most government-supported abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods.

9. My personal opinion..
.... is that for many it is simply about sex. Many just believe that sex is for babies and if you have sex your "punishment" is a baby.

OTOH, the only person I've known well who was anti-abortion was mad because his gf did not want to have his baby and had an abortion. It took all the will power I could muster to not tell him that no woman want to have the child of someone they know won't be around to help raise it or hold a job to do so.
Says the guy whose choice for President actually believes that infants are punishments.

11. No, it's about controlling women's bodies and lives, including socioeconomic status. Which covers

your concern about poor "people" -- being women without equal rights, equal opportunities and equal sovereignty over their lives and bodies.

Yes, It's about keeping wimmins in their place by controlling their socioeconomic circumstances.

And yet, here I am, with 5 kids, and making more money every year than most of these clowns.

22. It's not a conspiracy
just the logical conclusion about where the thuggish forced-birther thinking leads.

If the anti-abortion crowd is practicing some sort of eugenics or racism/classism, why wouldn't they support abortion? Why wouldn't they encourage abortion more and start putting up abortion clinics on their own dime in black and hispanic neighborhoods?

Because a woman in control of her own fertility is a woman in control of her own economic destiny. She is no longer is a slave to biology. And that's exactly what the forced-birthers (I refuse to call them "right to life," there is nothing life-giving about their stance).

You're right in that forced-birthers *ought* to be for free birth control on every corner. The fact that they aren't, is quite telling.

In control of FERTILITY is perfectly alright.  It's the control of the human being inside her body that goes beyond the bounds of a woman's "right."

I always assumed the left/liberals worship abortion because it keeps down the black population.  I think I'm right too.

Support for abortion is racist above all else.  It's the liberal way.  Always.

Really? Does anyone know anyone like that? How sad to think a baby is punishment. What a disgusting way to think. I guess I should stop being dumbfounded by their asinine stereotypes but they're willful ignorance never disappoints. I don't think they have very good sex lives otherwise they wouldn't think so negatively about it. But then I bet it's hard to have an orgasm when you're pissed at the world all the time. Besides I wouldn't think one would have to worry about pregnancy with a strap on...wonder if it chafes her?

These people are and have always been willfully ignorant no matter how many torn up remains of babies are on display(white and black babies I might add). It is about and has always been about the genocide of the most innocent of human life. It has been about acknowledging that what is being done by abortion ends that human life. I actually believe the pro-life camps have finally got their side to admit it's a life, sadly it hasn't changed the dialogue at all. Abortionists acknowledge what it is and don't care and now want to pin that pro-life people SUPPORT life because they actually don't care about people or the babies that are saved? Liberals are adept manipulators at controlling the stereotypes and conversation and I'll be damned if I let this one advance. These assholes aren't going to control the dialogue anymore in regards to this or race.

Between this thread and the one kissing on the ass of Rev. Wright, it becomes very clear to anyone with even a little bit of knowledge on these topics who the racist, life-hating, poor pimping side is.

As for poor people, the more I read their crap the more I believe they actually want to keep people poor and make more poor people. They think 'poor people' are quaint and noble(probably because they've got a cool homeless guy on the corner or something who rants about the same stupid shit they do). They want to make us all poor. They would never want the reverse of prosperity for all because they are psychologically addicted to both having some sort of struggle to be a part of or champion. Liberals could not be themselves if there was a)world peace, b) no poverty, and c) no oppression and when there are none of these things to worry about they make up scenarios that sort of fit them and/or trump them up to be a massive problem. I'm convinced they are people who thrive on chaos and pain and to get their fix they have to seek those things out. They are the enemy of happiness.

That's also the key behind AIDS research funding.

Liberalism is politicized, tax-funded hedonism.

Just like gun control legislation.
You don't see it as much in predominantly white areas. Most gun laws are in areas that have a high number of minorities.

Naw, the anti-abortion movement is so us rich rethuglicans can have someone else birth our babies.  Once we take sex ed out of the schools, why all them poor people wont even know what causes pregnancy and we can have the pick of the litter.  Imagine all of use rich repukes never having to get pregnant again.
