In Wake Of D.C. Shooting, Whither GOP Reps Pushing “Birther†Bill?
In Wake Of D.C. Shooting, Whither GOP Reps Pushing “Birther†Bill? (http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/president-obama/in-wake-of-dc-shooting-whither-gop-reps-pushing-birther-bill/)
A side question raised by the D.C. shooting: Will GOP members of Congress who have pushed so-called “birther†legislation in Congress drop this crusade, now that it’s emerging that the suspected shooter may have been a “birther,†too?
TPM has unearthed a writing of James von Brunn that seems to show that he’s a “birther,†one of those hearty souls who’s questioning the legitimacy of Obama’s election because he isn’t a natural born American citizen.
The point is not that the “birther†talk is directly to blame for violence like this. But it seems fair to ask whether this kind of stuff, and related fringe wackitude, is playing some kind of role in helping egg it on at a moment when Obama’s agenda is coming into focus.
So what of the GOP Congressmen who are pushing along the “birther†movement? GOP Reps Bill Posey of Floriday and Bob Goodlatte of Virginia have sponsored a bill that would require presidential candidates to furnish a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate. These are members of the United States Congress. Do they keep this up, or do they drop this wacked crusade?
Spokespeople for both Republicans didn’t immediately return a request for comment, but it’s worth asking and staying on top of right now.
:rotf: :rotf: :rotf: This "logic" is such a wild stretch that the backlash when it breaks could wipe out the entire site! The Plum LineGreg Sargent's blog (http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/)

That's the same exact question sane...rational Americans...ask about the fetid swamp of a discussion board you call DU.

I guess we could ask the same about whether Skinner will allow "Troofers" to continue to post on Skin's Island since this nutjob was also one of them.
-
So anything this nut believed about politics is something that should be dropped by all others who also believe the same thing simply because he killed someone? :mental:
Talk about a total disconnect from reality.

Well, of course, that only goes for conservatives. If it happened to be a left-wing military-hating whacko, then it has no bearing on any other left-winger or left-wing cause. ::)

The weird thing about this is, if Bush or any Republican had his birth certificate sealed, the DUmmies would be the first to become birthers, and rightfully so, IMO. It is absolutely astounding that the public hasn't seen Obama birth certificate. Weren't they "birthers" as far as McCain was concerned?

There was an old troll who returned to CU in the past month. Some of you may remember SuperCrash. He was spouting the nonsense about McCain never publicly disclosing his birth certificate either. He didn't last long this last time. Posted about 200 times in three days and got the boot.

There were lots of blog articles claiming that McCain was ineligible to be president, but they were idiots .

supercrash was here a few weeks ago. He was beyond stupid and earned a banning for his trouble.
It took him about an hour and a half to blow his top and post a big "F-U" thread.

Since the shooter was also a "911 Truther", are all these LIHOP/MIHOP idiots going to STFU now?

No. They will come up with a new conspiracy theory about how Von Brunn's 'troofish' beliefs were invented to make it appear he really isn't a right-wing kook.
