Some Israelis Insulted By Obama Picture

Israeli TV newscasters Tuesday night interpreted a photo taken Monday in the Oval Office of President Obama talking on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as an "insult" to Israel.
They saw the incident as somewhat akin to an incident last year, when the Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at President Bush in Baghdad.
It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too.
Was there a subliminal message intended from the White House to Netanyahu in Jerusalem, who is publicly resisting attempts by Mr. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to force Israel to stop any kind of settlement activity in occupied territories once and forever?
Whether or not it is true, it shows the mood in Israel. They feel cornered. The reactions out of Israel reflect that feeling.
Once again, Uncle Eg0 proves just how clueless he really is.

Israel's Channel One TV reported that Netanyahu was told Tuesday by an "American official" in Jerusalem that, "We are going to change the world. Please, don't interfere." The report said Netanyahu's aides interpreted this as a "threat."

Remember back during the campaign when the female newsreporters were creaming in their jeans over his "Nice Package".......Well, it's hard to find 3-legged underwear with the instructions sewn in the waist band.

I remember seeing photos of Jimmy Carter and his rather loose, informal style in the Oval Orifice.
And I remember yet another photo of Gerald Ford petting his dog Liberty (a golden retriever) as he lay down alongside his desk in the Oval Orifice.
In short, there is no disrespect here toward the office - only the normal contempt that Lord Zero exhibits toward people at large.

Screw the insult to the Isrealis: what about the insult to the British with this photo?
What's worse, this isn't the first time I've seen a photo with his big-assed feet up on the HMS Resolute desk. After things like this, the "gift debacles", tossing the Winston Churchill bust out of the oval orifice, and that train wreck of an Øbama-beach show at the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, it's absolutely miraculous to me that Downing Street will even pick up the phone for this 'tard anymore.

But I do think Obama does disrespect the office inherently - his Wednesday night parties are Hollyweirdish.

The real insult to Israel is in Obama's other actions. He has pretty much signaled the Middle East that Israel is on its own. During that last trip to the ME, for example, he did not even bother to pay Israel a visit. It's hard to imagine other US presidents omitting a visit to Israel.
