Will Republicans ever choke on their own bile?
The hatred that Republicans have displayed since Obama's election is astonishing, endless, and deadly dangerous.
What's most striking is that even during the time the Republicans held the White House, the congress, and even the Supreme Court, they never for a moment dropped their hatred of people like us. Anyone who wouldn't buy into their propaganda, their war(s), or bow down to the interests of corporate America, were all fair game for their hatred, attacks and lies.
And yes, we too hate. Many, if not most of us have come to hate what the Republican Party stands for and the economic disaster they have brought upon us all. But there is a difference. Our goal is not to destroy them. It is simply to marginalize them and make people understand that they are nothing more than a lunatic fringe. Their goal, on the other hand, is to wipe us all, and those who have the ability to empathize, off the face of the earth.
We saw this when they were in power and it's more apparent now that they're out of power. We are doing absolutely nothing to destroy the Republican Party. They're doing a good enough job themselves.
But make no mistake about it. Republicans are the enemies of decency. And if that sounds harsh, don't just listen to what they say. Watch what they do. What sane human being would be against universal health care, a minimum wage, or a basic safety net for the poorest among us? Evidently, it doesn't bother Republicans one bit that there are people living in misery.
One suspects Oscar Wilde just applied for a part-time job as a cinema projectionist in a movie theatre, to supplement his income.

And the funny thing is, five months into the 0bamareich, I've yet to see any hatred directed against Pa Kettle on web-sites habituated by decent and civilized people.
Disgust, yes, dismay, yes, frustration, yes, confusion, yes, deep concern, yes, disagreement, yes, &c., &c., &c., yes.
But that's not hatred, and nothing near the venom the primitives poured on George Bush. Not even close. Not even distantly close.
