It's Saturday! Finally!! :yahoo:
Not doing much here at the moment. Later in the day consists of a couple errands and driving up to Hendersonville to do a little bit of work on le heap du merde. It idles like crap but I think I may have damaged one of the plug wires on Wednesday, so I have to wait for a replacement to show up at 9:00. If that doesn't fix the problem, I have some work to do.
Did I mention this car stinks? Holy hell, where's my air freshener? I think I may have to pick up a box of generic laundry sheets and toss them in the back seat. And it looks like the starter was installed by a blind man. Fun, fun.
So... watchoo doin'?

I had a pretty good time after work, and came home with more money then I started with.
I finally was able to catch up with a friend from IL, we had been playing phone tag.
His 4 year old daughter had a stroke Monday and is in the hospital. :( I'm heartbroken over this.

We're outta here in a few. BEG and I will both be out of Texas at the same time. I don't know if the great republic will survive.

In a fit of motivation yesterday, I mowed the lawn. Sadly, it did not carry over to today. I blew off going into the plant (will go tomorrow) and will probably just clean the house a bit this morning and fix the water filter (getting silt in the lines again).

It sounds like you're forgetting to include alcohol in your saturday. I hope that will be remedied by noon :cheersmate:

Sadly, it will not. I have the beeper, which requires my being within 1 hour's drive from the plant and fit-for-duty at all times until Monday.

Well, at least the on-call allowance should subsidize a bit of the next party bout :cheersmate:
Just a few months ago, we had a guy on-call whom when called in stated he didn't want it anymore. I mean really, I was shocked, not just by the audacity but that he got away with it. :thatsright:

I'm looking forward to climbing underneath my car, with a scraper in hand. It's a lovely sense of joy, to realize that weeks before you're about to turn in your lease vehicle. Which is frightenly over miles, and you're too honest to you know :thatsright: That you ran over a freshly painted yellow line, which is now splattered throughout your wheel wells :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright: :bawl:

It's 78 and sunny here. The Heiress just woke up. We're going to take her for a walk soon--we need to synthesize some vitamin D. My new contacts (Acuvue) have just about settled down in my eyes. About effin' time, too, as I've had them in my eyes for about 4 hours now. Also watching the Skankees and the Rays. David Price v. the second best lefthander in New York City (CC Sabathia). Even though the Skanks took the lead in the fifth, Sabathia just walked B.J. Upton to lead off the sixth. Should be fun!--Update: Carl Crawford just lined a single down the third-base line. Two on, no one out.
ETA--just after I posed this, Willy Aybar hit a rocket into the Rays' bullpen! 5-3, Rays.
(I shoulda added David Price to my fantasy team in the "Conservatives 2009" league . . . )

Not to worry, the almighty Thor is still here in the Lone Star State, attempting to maintain good order & discipline.

That's terrible, poor baby. Prayers for her and her family. :(
We spent several hours at a Festival where my daughter got to demonstate vaulting - gymnatics on horseback. Now we're home, and I'm waiting for the codeine to kick in so I can take a nap before getting on with chores.

Mrs. Tantal and the kids are crashed. I'm doing laundry and getting my uniforms wired-up for a new work week. Between loads I'll be building yet another AR. I already had a few Stag stripped lowers, a MilSpec lower parts kit, and a 6-position collapsible stock. Today I picked up a Rock River complete upper, a single-point bungee sling, and a single rail to go on the lower handguard. I've already installed the rail, forward vertical grip, and Surefire G2 Nitrilon in VLTOR mount onto the upper assembly, as well as the EoTech 512 and BUIS. In a few hours I should have another complete rifle......but still 3 more stripped lowers to build out. That'll take me to 6 ARs, which should be enough.
Tomorrow should suck. I have to sit through a 5 hour dance recital of which my daughter will dance about 10 minutes. "Why so long" you might ask. Well, apparently, some parents think that their kids are God's gift to the art of dance. That being the case, the proprietor of the studio SELLS solo slots in the recital for a few hundred a pop. The young Tantal girl is better than average, but not spectacular enough for me to pony up a few C-Notes for her to show off.

Black out the wheel wells with a can of flat black spray paint!
