Title: June 4, 2009...Rainy Thursday!
Post by: Flame on June 04, 2009, 08:44:46 AM
Once again, we are in the "wait and see" mode for baseball games tonight.  Supposed to have 2 games (different locations), and a dress rehearsal for part of recital tonight (Irish).
10 more days, and I'm DONE DONE DONE!

At least for this year.  :-)

Nothing too exciting on the agenda.  Going to take my daughter to the bank and open a checking account for her.  Trying to decide if I should make my youngest go to school tomorrow...last day, and really, the only reason would be to get his report card.  High Schooler and Middle Schooler don't need to go, 'cause they mail the report cards.

And for a bit of a retro feel, how about a TOTD:

When do you KNOW it's summer?     For me, it's when I take the kids to the community pool for the first time.

It was cold, cloudy and drizzly yesterday. Today it's bright and sunny, but still a quite cool 54 degrees outside.

No rain expected today, just cloudiness.  However, there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms tomorrow.  It definitely does not seem like summer yet.  I am loving the extended sunlight hours though.  I get home from work, and I feel like it is still the middle of the day  :-)

Our weather is beautiful.  I am currently watching my four year old granddaughter while her mother is gone to get her hair "done" in one place and her fingers and toes in another.  It's her 33rd. birthday today and she wants to be beautiful.

Her mother and I are paying for all this beauty as a birthday gift to her.  It's easier than shopping.

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary.  My wife went into labor with our oldest daughter (above) on our fifth anniversary.  Fun times.  Memories, like the corners of my mind......misty placenta colored memories...of the way we were.....

Trying to get work all complete as I'm leaving the house at 5am tomorrow to get a 6:20 flight to Maine.

I'm thinking I should plan trips more often.....I get swamped whenever I do...it's good things, but sends me into panic mode.... :hyper:.

Cool and unsettled weather here. We had MAJOR thunderstorms last night, so I diden't sleep well.
The kidlet is at Grandma's and Grandpa's till saturday, when we go down to see my mother "graduate" from docent school for the Crocker Art Museum.
The wife wants a "night out" aka: dinner and a movie. I don't mind. I know what the bennies are.  :naughty:

I saw my son, then my youngest daughter being born.

Let's just say that I have ALWAYS had the utmost in respect for health care workers.

I can still remember the splash on the floor.   :o

Yes, the miracle of birth can be messy.  Especially our youngest's.  He was so ugly we thought he was breech.   :p

Thanks ever'body for the well wishes.

I know it is summer when we don't need a quilt on the bed for more than a week straight.  I know it's summer when I can put a pair of shorts and T-shirt on in the morning and not be cold.

I hadn't turned the pilot light off yet on the furnace, and it kicked on last night even with the thermostat turned all the way down.

It's June.  I turned the furnace off.  OFF, YOU HEAR ME!!!  I don't care if I've got icicles in my shower tomorrow morning.  It stays OFF.

That being said, it's a relatively beautiful 75 today, windows all open, airing the house out.  Stained the front and back porches, redid the herb planters, and did laundry...all while playing hooky.

 Sorry about your weather, man.  It was too hot yesterday... low/mid 90's.  It rained overnight, and is about fifteen degrees cooler outside.  Nice.

TOTD:  When I have to take my shirt off or start wearing shorts to go outside.  I'm not someone that needs to be doing either  (just call me Whitey).  That sun felt good yesterday, though.

I know it's summer when I have to turn on the A/C in my car at 6 o'clock in the morning. :-)

Happy belated Anniversary Undies! I'm 38 - that's a looooooong time. :-)

I know it's summer when dawn breaks before 0500, which is when I get up in the morning.

It tried to rain here the past couple days, yet it never did. Was humid for a while (18%) but it's back down into single digit humidty range now.

In May we did get 0.1 inches of rain. I doubt it will rain again until July.

It rained again while I was at work.  At least it keeps the temperature down.

Yeah, I'm guessing the local Wally World/Home Depots don't sell a lot of dehumidifiers.  Here, they're mandatory in summer, unless you really LIKE mold and mildew in your basement.
