Title: Restaurant sorry over F word bill
Post by: bijou on February 19, 2008, 04:15:29 PM

Quote
A restaurant owner has apologised after diners had their very own F word experience - without Gordon Ramsay.
Ten friends found the abusive and sexually-explicit message on their bill at Joe Delucci's Italian restaurant in Bird Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Diner Clare Watkin said she thought it was written after they complained about poor service.

The party from Walsall had gone to the restaurant on Friday. Owner Nigel Langsdon has begun an investigation.

Ms Watkin said: "I couldn't believe it. The bill read 'fish cakes', which one of us had for a starter, and it was written right above it - absolutely disgusting language.

"We actually booked the table for 8 o' clock in the evening, by the time they had taken our order it was quarter to nine and we didn't actually receive our food until quarter past 10."

She added: "I'd like a written apology from the restaurant and I'd also like some compensation.

What can you expect from a country with socialized dining?  This is what we have to look forward to when universal restaurant care if forced upon us here in the USA.

Yep, we'll have to wait 3 months to eat out, but hey, it will be "free".

Don't forget, the free food is English.  Need I say more?

Remember, a British ham sandwich killed Mama Cass.  We still don't know what caused Jimi Hendrix's fatal vomit.  It is still believed Brian Jones died because he ate a scone before diving into that pool.  That's two American Icons and one British Stone dead before 1975.

Hehe, if you looked forward to eating there, you had just not been trying. If you ever go to London again PM me for restaurant recommendations.

Actually I found pub food to be great, by and large (especially in rural pubs), and if you are into curry, some of the best Indian cuisine this side of Bombay can be found in London.

I lived in a small hotel in Chelmsford for a couple of months, and the restaurant's specialty was Dover Sole......it would melt in your mouth.....

Coffee sucks tho....

That's not QUITE true--but it's close.  We did find a really great breakfast place right behind Harrod's.

Too bad English breakfast SUCKS compared to how they do it in Ireland.
