Tiller Family Releases Statement
***UPDATE*** Tiller's wife Jeanne, his four children and ten grandchildren issued the following statement

"Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today's event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George's friends and patients. This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace.

We would like to express the family's thanks for the many messages of sympathy from our friends and from all across the nation. We also want to thank the law enforcement officers who are investigating this crime.

Our loss is also a loss for the City of Wichita and women across America. George dedicated his life to providing women with high-quality heath care unwanted infants a gruesome but fairly quick death despite frequent threats and violence. We ask that he be remembered as a good husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated servant on behalf of the rights of women everywhere."

I felt it necessary to correct this DUmmy's post. His family can issue a statement. His victims never even learned to speak.

What next?  Will his body lie in state in the Capitol rotunda?  Will he be buried at Arlington?  Maybe a school name change is in the making?

You know, I went to the Drudge Report, and was surprised.

Given the way the abortion enthusiasts direct the media, I had expected great big bloody red screaming headlines, and the blinking siren.

It's a lesser story there.

Right where it belongs, just another homocide of another person, nothing more special about that victim than any convenience store clerk, liquor store clerk, pawnbroker, or whatever, murders that happen daily, not once every several years.

Of course, these others don't even get on Drudge, and so maybe Drudge would be better to find another, worthier, story for its front page.

I think there are only a handful of doctors who will perform a late term abortion in this country (actually less than a handful).   One of them was murdered today in a house of worship.

It will send shock waves to the few others who do it, but violence -- disgusting violence, such as this from the extreme fringe cannot be tolerated by any member of the GOP, or any political party.

No mature intelligent person wants to tolerate such actions.  But it happened and I, for one, will not tolerate the man being portrayed as a hero or a martyr without the proper contridiction.

Not staying silent in the aftermath should not be considered tolerating the crime.

It's never permissible to take another life with homicide. I don't feel any different for this nutjob who killed Dr. Death than I do the gangbanger who kills innocents who just happen to be in the line of fire.

He needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

Too bad the infants he has "disposed" of, never got the chance to defend themselves in his court of judge, jury, and executioner..

H5 for the bolded statements.  Dead on.
