Abortion foes fear backlash to Tiller's murder
 Source: AP/Yahoo

*if it it smells like pre-emptive spin and browbeating to hold off the wolves, it probably is*

NEW YORK – Anti-abortion leaders voiced concern Sunday that the Obama administration and other Democrats may try to capitalize on the murder of Dr. George Tiller to defuse the abortion issue in upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

Many anti-abortion groups condemned the killing of Tiller, a prominent abortion provider who was shot dead at his church in Wichita, Kan. But they expressed concern that abortion-rights activists would use the occasion to brand the entire anti-abortion movement as extremist.

They also worried that there would now be an effort to stifle anti-abortion viewpoints during questioning of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Her exact views on abortion aren't known, but conservatives fear she supports abortion rights.

According to the National Abortion Federation, Tiller was the eighth U.S. abortion provider murdered since 1977, and 17 others had been targeted with attempted murder.

 They aren't?

Are they saying there are "moderate" anti-abortionists? Centrism comes to "pro-lifers?"

How can you seek to deny someone a Constitutionally-protected right and be considered "moderate?" Or "centrist?"

How can you deny an infant the right to life and still consider yourself moderate, centrist, anti-extreme?

8. They murdered a law-abiding man,
who was doing his job because his job didn't jibe with their religious beliefs.

How do these people differ from Al Qaeda, and why aren't we hunting them down and throwing them into Gitmo?

What with support for many forms of profound Ideologically Driven, Economic and Social Oppression, including Endless War and State Religion, we're only quibbling over who draws the line.

21. I hope they are peeing in their pants. I hope this guy can be directly
linked to Operation "Rescue" or some such. I hope he has journals full of his plans and the names of his buddies.

And I can see a time when some liberal with a gun will have had QUITE ENOUGH OF THIS BS and march into some fundie church on Sanday and give these ****ing hypocrites a taste of their own medicine.

I can't see any reason why all pro-life people would be worried about a backlash against us all from the actions of one criminal.   ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I'm not worried about any backlash.

It couldn't be any worse, any more intense, than it's ever been the past thirty years, the constant bullying of the abortion enthusiasts.

I think decent and civilized people are used to it.

Nope, because for all the online hysterics (they still think they matter) the DUmmies have the truth is most of them would do this against any one of us if given the chance and they could get away with it.

We would not.

That is the difference.
