Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.

The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force -- one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.

The three black panthers, Minister King Samir Shabazz, Malik Zulu Shabazz and Jerry Jackson were charged in a civil complaint in the final days of the Bush administration with violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Shabazz allegedly held a nightstick or baton that prosecutors said he pointed at people and menacingly tapped it. Prosecutors also say he "supports racially motivated violence against non-blacks and Jews."

If you're looking for shock or surprise by posting this here, I think you'll be sadly disappointed.  I think the only emotional response this will draw here is DISGUST.   :banghead:

This subject caused a bit of a bonfire at Moonbattery.  The liberal's opening salvo?  "Waaahh, you guys are such big babies."  Compelling argument, isn't it?  Of course, they can't answer just how this would be different from a bunch of KKKers hanging around a voting booth on the eve of the election of a black man.

A spokesman for the Department of Justice told FOX News, "The Justice Department was successful in obtaining an injunction that prohibits the defendant who brandished a weapon outside a Philadelphia polling place from doing so again.

In the LDS church, The Book of Mormon is held as a record of the people who inhabited this continent from approximately 600 BC to approximately 400 AD.

Within it's pages, are accounts of a group that called themselves the Robbers of Gadianton (http://www.ifm-services.com/people/jamesk/thirdparty/newby_daniel/what-is-gadianton.php).  (see the link for as thorough a discription as any I could give)

I could say so much about what I think - especially in reference to ReichsMessiah Øbama, but I also trust that you're smart enough to draw your own conclusions.

We should cut our losses and be thankful they weren't made SCOTUS nominees.

They have a richness of life experiences not generally found in white males.

From the OP's article:

... whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically," noting that one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said "you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker" . . .

Voter intimidation is okay, if your candidate wins. Welcome to the Third World.

Given Planned Parenthood's penchant for abortion on demand, will they count aborted babies votes? Given the Democratic Party's past history, it would not surprise me.

Are the New Black Panthers the new Brownshirts?

Giving a pass to obvious voter intimidation is a recipe for more of the same.
Bring a video camera to to your 2010 polling place. You Tube may be the only place that will cover this.
But remember not to post solely on YouTube, have it on a conservative site, when YouTube pulls one video, we need 500 more reposted within minutes.

I'm sure they will try it.  0bama has already proven he has zero respect for the Constitution.

We will see internet restrictions akin to what currently exist in communist China if the 0bamites have their way.

There was some excellent commentary on this subject on Bill O-Reilly last night. A lawyer (I cannot remember his name), who described himself as a "Kennedy Democrat," and an expert on voter rights, was outraged. He said it was the worst example of voter intimidation he had ever seen. He also said Holder virtually had a conviction in the case, but let it slip away. We need answers.

I agree with whoever said these voter intimidation tactics need to be documented in 2010 and 2012.

This is no surprise. I'm sure this works right in with Bam Bam's view of "community organizing".

How about this?

"Official Document says Black Panther was “representing the Democratic Party” Link (http://www.electionjournal.org/2009/05/30/official-document-says-black-panther-was-representing-the-democratic-party/)
Quote
When confronted by Philadelphia Police,  Black Panther Jerry Jackson stated  that he was “an official watcher” - meaning that he had been appointed by a party or candidate to observe the election at the polling location.  Only voters, election board workers, and watchers may enter a polling location. The New Black Panther Party isn’t an officially recognized political party in Philadelphia, so they couldn’t appoint him. So who gave this guy a credential?
We already reported here (http://www.electionjournal.org/2009/01/12/accused-black-panther-tied-to-philly-democratic-party/) that Jackson is an elected member of the Philadelphia Democratic Committee.  And a document obtained from the Philadelphia Board of Elections confirms he was “representing the Democratic Party” at the polls in November.
Here is a copy of the watcher certificate he was issued and below is  some of his “official” activity.

I guess there were good reasons for dropping the charges political reasons, that is.

No, that makes it worse. What they were doing was illegal, and poll watchers and Committeemen/women are familiarized with the election laws. So, it was more than ignorance, it was WILFUL lawbreaking. It should have had a CRIMINAL component to the charges too.  :banghead:
