This is ridiculous. It really makes me sad to see something like this.

Supervisor Asks Woman To Take Down American Flag
Mansfield (CBS 11 News) Is it okay to show your patriotism at the office?
For one Arlington woman, the answer was "no" after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.
Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.
When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.
*snip*
McLucas said the supervisor who complained has been in the United States for 14 years and is formerly from Africa. McLucas said the supervisor took down Debbie's flag herself.
"The flag and the pole had been placed on the floor," McLucas said. But McLucas also said hospital higher ups had told her some patients' families and visitors had also complained.

Well just go the hell back to the a$$hole of the world and take those other SOB's with you.

If she had placed a Mexican flag above the US flag, there would have been no complaints.

A three-foot by five-foot flag at work? Come on, folks. Patriotism is one thling. This was just showing off.

or whatever shithole African country the supervisor slimed his way from to America for a "lesser station in life". <--- ::)

A 3' x 5' in a small office shared by 4 people? I bet they were complaining about the size more than the symbolism. I share my office with 2 other people and we all have distinct personalities...I have a small "Remember 9.11" post card with the american flag on my desk...but it's not intrusive, it's only in my desk area.
While not appropriate, we have political discussion at work all the time and even have food bets during election season...Of course I was out a lot of money last election season :whatever:

Unless maybe you risked your life for that flag...or had a family member or close friend die for it. :whatever:

In a small four man office, that big a flag is ridiculous. She's trying to stir up trouble, and she got it.
I have a 4-year stint in the USN defending that flag and the right of the business owner to take it down.

You know this how?

...matter of opinon. Again, how big is that office? Got pics?

Yeah, hanging an American flag is just asking for it. :whatever:

Thanks for your service. Where did you serve?

I'm afraid I would have had to desecrate that flag, by shoving it up the ass of that creep.

An update to the original article at the same link above.
Then, late Wednesday morning, Kindred posted on its website a statement about the incident. It reads, in part: "The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up."
Wait, first it was the size of the flag, but now you are going to let her put the same flag back up? Something stinks.

They're gonna ruin their coporate transmission shifting into reverse that fast.

I have a 3x5 flag on the back of the door to my office. Nobody has ever said a thing about it.
Of course, it is black with a skull and crossbones on it, which may serve to intimidate some.

That was in another comment upstream. Where did you serve?
At the communications station in Norfolk, then two years at the Northwest radio receiver site in the midst of the Great Dismal Swamp. Heh. It was actually good duty. A friend of mine and I formed up a band and played gigs at Nags Head Beach, 'concerts' at a roller rink in Elizabeth City, NC, and over the radio on WGAI, Eliz City, and WTID Norfolk. Pics? Yeah, I got 'em. :cheersmate:

Nags Head is where I bought my flag.

I miss North Carolina, and towns with names like Moyock and Coinjock. Not to mention the girl I left behind... :bawl:

The fact that the hoslpital immediately changed it's mind and let the flag stay tells us something.
:thatsright:

That is not that large a Flag when trying to show you're patriotism. Sorry if you think so, I've seen 1 man cubicles that would not have been cluttered whith it hung vertically. Bottom line, they stepped on their PeePee, now their playing damage control. Bet they didn't expect her to fight back.

Kudos to her for fighting back; more of us should fight back.... :hammer:

From the end of the article:
But she says when she was first told the flag had to go, nobody mentioned anything about its size.
"At no point was I afforded the opportunity -- [no one said,] 'Hey Deb, could you get a one and a half by three and a half and hang it instead of hanging this three by five?'" McLucas said.
Even so, McLucas says she's happy people have spoken out about the issue. "It's just restored my faith in the American people," she said.
The size of the flag was not an issue until the corpoorate wonks and the CEO got their a$$es handed to them. They should apply for jobs in Barry's press office.
