It's just around the corner.
"The dear leader" is schedule to attend the ceremony. What will be interesting will be to see if he takes time out of his busy schedule to FINALLY make a trip to visit our wounded warriors at Landstuhl Army Hospital.
Back when he was campaigning he was going to visit with them, but when the hospital commander killed his plans for turning it into a media circus, "the dear leader" left without visiting them. Less than a month ago, he was in europe attending the G-20 summit meetings and even traveled to Germany - he didn't take time out of his busy schedule to visit our wounded warriors.
Will he visit them when he returns to europe to attend the D-Day ceremonies? Somehow I doubt he will.
Many catholics are already up in arms because in an upcoming european trip [might be the D-Day visit] no where on his schedule is he supposed to go to the Vatican and meet with the Pope even though he will be traveling to Rome.

According to the schedule of events, on June 7 - the final day of the commemoration, 300 paratroopers from several nations will perform a jump over Ste.-Mère-Église.
My oldest is a paratrooper assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Abn Bde in Bamberg Germany. The 173rd Abn Bde, headquartered at Vicenza Italy, along with the units in Germany are the closest U.S. paratrooper units. The 173rd made the only combat jump during OIF.

I'll be busy tying the knot that day, and even I'll spare a few thoughts and prayers to the men and women fighting for our country. Obama hasn't got an excuse not to visit them.

Congratulations, June 6th is also my sister's anniversary, 40 years for her and her husband.
