We are having a bi-state PROUD TO PAY OUR SHARE rally
Edited on Sun May-24-09 11:13 AM by proud2BlibKansan
We will rally in front of both of our area congressmen's offices to send the message that we are proud to pay taxes and appreciate the services they provide. We have several Democratic local elected officials who are speaking.
:patriot:
I wonder if Tim Geitner will be speaking at this one?
-
Hmmm. Lets see them hold that AFTER Cap and Trade goes through. Life is still somewhat painless now. Lord O's policies haven't quite borne fruit and set its roots in our pocketbooks yet.
-
Don't the dummies realize they have to have jobs to "pay their share?"
-
Anyone want to bet that some of these rallies like this are initiated by certain union groups. specifically those that suck at the public teat. AFSME, NEA and the like are my guesses.
-
Is that a DUmmies definition of patriot? A receptacle for government services that occasionally contributes to its funding? Isn't that Proud2Bwhatever a public school teacher? I'm not surprised she's "okay" with whatever pork her elected representatives hand out as long as she's on the recieving end.
-
Something tells me the anti-Tea Party that this idiot is trying to organize won't get as much traction as he's hoping.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

These people can pay as much as they want without making others pay more can't they??
I didn't know there were so many leftist bi's who like to hold pro-tax rallies.
-
Tell ya what, lurking DIpshits--let's compare paystubs. I bet my "share" is a helluva lot more than yours.
-
I'd love to know just how much in the way of taxes proud2blib has ever really paid. My bet is it'll be in the same range as myself. I big fat whopping zero dollars.
-
Her problem is that a fair share amounts to however much the government can loot from the productive while allowing them to still "own" a house and a government approved car, while raining largesse down upon her selected demographic.
-
I'm betting almost everybody who shows (If anyone does) will be recipients of nontaxable public benefits or other flavors of net takers (on various credits like EIC) rather than net payers.

No kidding.
DUmmies support taxes until they are asked to pay them.

An act performed under compulsion has no moral worth. Even if the actor truly believes that their motive is not merely, or even not at all, to avoid the violence threatened if the actor does not comply, that motive is suspect until the same act is performed with compulsion completely removed.
Paying taxes is no more a moral act than is handing over your wallet to a mugger, and to be proud of doing either is the heighth of foolishness.

Dead on. H5.

You are extremely correct, my friend. What kind of crazy world have we wrought when American citizens want to rally to support taxation. Something tells me our world has tipped. Pledging to lower taxes use to be the only way to get elected. No we have candidates who pledge to raise taxes - and they are applauded by the vast numbers who pay no taxes at all, and some who receive "refunds" for taxes they never paid.
Sanity thy name is Absent.

We have the class warfare of the Democrats to thank for that. Children are indoctrinated to believe that they are "owed" many things by the public school schools, and as they get older, they vote for those that will give to them what they are "owed", regardless of the fact that by doing so, they are taking from the rightful owners.

Aint that the friggin truth! I don't mind paying for something I benefit from, but to pay for some other low-life to get a free pass, just chaps my hide!

11. One expression I wish Dem officials would use more often -- PUBLIC GOOD
Repubs and anti-tax people are all for public goods that benefit themselves; they just object to public goods that benefit others. Have kids in school? Taxes for schools are good. Don't have kids in school? WAAAAHHHHH! Socialism! Have a car? Taxes for roads are good. Don't have a car? WAAAAHHHHH! Socialism!
I've never seen school or road taxes bankrupt a city, state, or country. Dumbass liberals.
-
Why should I be proud to pay my taxes after the way my state (and country) has mis-handled them? I work hard to keep a budget, to cut expenses, and to save my money, and all I see is the government saying that they need more and more. If I saw the government working efficiently, taking care of what they should actually handling rather than everything they can finagle their way into, maybe I would be proud of what my tax dollars are used for, but as it stands, all I see it waste.
-
Only one lone voice over there said that they'd be fine with that, as long as its money wasn't going to corporate bailouts.
This giant rally is scheduled for Sat. 6/27/09, at KC, MO and Overland Park, KS. I'm marking it down to check afterwardss what media coverage happens.
