Hey all you union folks, and all you scabs that should be union
Intimidation and Harassment.
Threats and Surveillance.
Interrogation and Retaliation.
All standard tactics in the employer anti-union playbook, and during the past decade we've seen these tactics used more and more often.
In a study released this week, Kate Bronfenbrenner, director of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, documents this in detail -- including the increase in corporate tactics to interfere with, block and delay workers' attempts to form unions, and the ineffectiveness of current labor law to protect and enforce workers' rights in the election process.
The study, "No Holds Barred: The Intensification of Employer Opposition to Organizing," examines more than 1,000 union-representation campaigns and finds that "intense and aggressive" tactics to block workers' freedom to form unions are becoming more commonplace.

5. So what are you going to do?
Write a very threatening letter to your local newspaper? Or, even more likely to be trashed, to your congressman?
As I've said so many times before, whenever someone claims that unions have power and influence and can make a difference...it's been a long time since River Rouge.

7. That's been done. Labor needs to do the IMpossible.
Like, strikes. Factory closings. Facing down company goons with bats, clubs, or if necessary, firearms.
The only reason unions got their needs addressed, back in the dark ages, was because the bosses were physically afraid that they'd be killed and their property destroyed. They have no such fear now, which is why labor is being bent over a dumpster.
What Sean Connery called "the Chicago way" is the solution to labor's problems. Management brings a knife, you bring a gun. They put a union organizer in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue. That's the Detroit way. And that's how you stop Wal-Mart.

11. ah the happy face of violence, its okay because we are the union
you got to be ****ing kidding, just because the goons are from the abc or whatever union that does not give them the right to threaten anybody with injury or death.

18. Ask the guys that became the Teamsters how well all your happy horseshit worked.
We are dealing with people that will go to any lengths, including murder, to continue stealing what they want.
You're just a coward who's anxious to do or take anything just so long as nobody hurts you.
As always, those that stand for nothing will fall for, or take, anything.

14. Well, keep on killing trees with your letters to the editor.
Let's see what gets more done; futile arguments to people who don't care, or a fist in the jaw of an oppressor to MAKE him care.

15. and you believe using violence is going to get you what you want
id be real careful, you may not have as many people on your side as you would like to believe, and the violence that you would perpetrate could come back tenfold. Its always a bad day when violence gets introduced to the equation.

16. Your assigned homework: read history.
Read how the British did not cut ties to their American colonies simply because of a few sharply-written missives to the Crown. Read how Mexico was not willingly granted freedom from Spain with a few witticism. Read how the mineworkers, auto workers and other unions in the United States did not get their freedom from the impassioned hyperbolic speeches of Emma Goldman, but from workers striking, shutting down factories and facing the violence and assassination of the corporations.

19. We may be approaching the point that enough people say "enough!"
I always get a good laugh out of their faux tough-guy routines.

Oh my.
The reedy tom primitive must be a throwback to the 1930s, or even earlier than that, to the IWW.
But alas for the reedy tom primitive, I don't think that in today's lousy economy of the 0bamareich, too many people are enthusiastic about going on strikes.
-
Does this mean the Department of Homeland Security needs to add "union worker" to the list of domestic manmade catastrophe potentials?
I'm sending this DUmp link to DHS.

Anyone wonder why the left is so soft on terrorists...kindred spirits just different causes and agendas.
DUmb****s don`t realize that the islamists don`t give a rat about an employer or union worker....they want both dead.
-
I'd close my doors before I'd give in and give a job of any kind to some asshole that would threaten me with a weapon so he doesn't have to make a 10 dollar copay when he goes to the doctor.

I think what people like the 'tough guys' at Du forget is those fellas in the late 1800's really had nothing to lose--they made very little, had very little, and were treated really poorly. When someone is already on the bottom and being REALLY abused, there is nothing to do but fight and nothing to lose, but their own lives. DUmmies forget that those they are 'calling to arms' are pretty damn comfortable. Can anyone really see a UAW worker pickign up a gun and putting it to someone's head just to save 10 bucks on a copay? Is he really willing to risk serious jail time for a few bucks? Maybe a few union goons are, but not your average, comfortable, got everything to lose worker who is just a member of the union. Do Dummies even realize how petty this makes them(and anyone who agrees with such a position as theirs) look? The want to call to arms over nickles and dimes. When one is a child, you usually get put in a time out for something like that until you learn that your not the center of the universe.

DUmmies think that they should be making $20/hr., making those burgers and filling those fry bags.

Let's analyze the situation:
GM and Chrysler are in deep doo-doo because of unions. Ford was nearly in the same boat. The other car companies - not so much.

When will dummies learn? If they don't like the work conditions and rules, they are free to find another place to work.

Hey! when did tomreedtoon become a tough guy? Didn't he just say the other day he got his ass kicked on several occasions by an Autistic kid? :-)

Or, when they exhaust [the patience of] all of the other options, reassess their expectations versus their "trading stock"; vis a vis all of those "mean, heartless" companies that won't pay a DUmbass $20 an hour just to show up, grace the building with their enlightened presence, and waste a day hacking away on the DUmp all ****ing day long.
LOLing, because this whole thread reminds me of the last DUmbass I had to put up with in the workplace - he lasted 3 weeks, only because higher-ups wanted a stone bucket built, for when they did finally drop the trapdoor out from under him.

Kaiser workers up here in Spokane tried this very bullshit about 10 years ago. Know what happened? They closed! All of the whiners lost their jobs and went bankrupt. Ya see there was ho other place for a specialized work force. They're sorry as hell. They used to have it all. New cars every year, 20+ dollars an hour jobs, free healthcare, you get the idea. Now they have all had to find new "careers". Idiots! They finally asked for too much and got their ass handed to them.

Unions, by definition, kill businesses.
