Yeah, the ****ing irony. Not all Republicans are devout Christians. I am one, for example. I consider myself a Christian, but I don't read the bible, go to church, etc. I try to lead a moral life, but I am divorced. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make.

This is a twist of logic that people often get caught on--if you once did something, but have straightened up since then you can never ever ever speak bad of the evil you did. I've never understood that since there isn't a chance in the heavens that any of us down here are perfect...we all will have mistakes we will regret and probably encourage others not to repeat and that does not make us hypocrites for speaking ill of something we now understand or accept to be degrading, threatening, unhealthy, or immoral. DUmmies seem to forget that most of the people counseling against drugs, alcohol, and even their beloved sacred cow of disarming the populace usually do so from a place of previous experience with those things they speak out against now. Why is it that someone can be saint for say once being a meat eater and now they are a vegetarian and member of PETA and they are somehow NOT a hypocrite or a fraud, yet if someone was once in a good marriage that goes bad and ends up divorce and *gasp* they are Christian and their child speaks for traditional values then they are the biggest frauds since Milli Vanilli. :whatever: (I won't even point out that this young woman's parents are not HER and she is not responsible for things that those idiots see as her parents' failings)
And btw, this goes for when these young ladies pose nude or semi-nude before their success. Most women end up regretting those decisions later on, but most normal people understand youthful arrogance and folly and allow people to move past bad choices in their past. It's interesting how DUmmies are so damning and legalistic for touting how tolerant, forgiving, and loving they are. IN their own behavior, they once again point out how desperately human beings really did need a Savior who was actually capable of forgiving selflessly ie Jesus(sorry, DUmmies, Obama is not a God).

Yes, I noticed a comment of yours, frank, in the same vein and totally agree. By having no capacity to forgive others, the DUmmies can't forgive themselves. They visit the misery of that on everyone else. Being forgiving of both themselves and others allows the kind of grace rarely seen in their own democrat politicians that would afford them the humility to admit when they have made a mistake whether it be global warming, increasing taxes, or inpropriety of some kind. I've rarely seen a democrat politician admit when one of their pet projects has been disastrous or when their own behavior has been abbhorent. I have on many occasions, however, watched a good many more conservative politician apologize, make amends, resign, etc on such occasions. Not all, now, but I'd bed by and large the case is just as I said it to be.
Will they forgive perfectly? No, not possible, but it allows people to see one another as more then potential 'gotcha' moments to be used on political whim.
