Title: White House Correspondent's Dinner
Post by: seabelle on May 10, 2009, 10:24:08 AM
I guess it depends on which side of the aisle you're on, whether or not you thought Wanda Sykes was "ha-ha" funny or "I can't believe she said that" cringe inducing.  Here's a link to both videos of her remarks:

Riding that Unity Pony, huh?   :thatsright:

At least she actually mentioned he's ½white, we almost NEVER hear that...

I saw the "show" as I was flipping past it on C-SPAN.  The fawning and worshiping was too much.  I ignored Wanda Sykes... if you've seen her once, that's about all it takes.

Even some of the libs were saying it was over the top.  But apparently Zerobama thought it was the cat's ass.

So much for that "post-partisan era" we keep hearing about.  Oh, and isn't the headlining comedian supposed to be poking fun at the PRESIDENT?  Seems I remember hearing that somewhere.

I always thought that it was supposed to be like a "roast" with the president as the honoree, but it seems like they consider 0Bama to be untouchable.

Another reason not to watch late-night shows.  None of them say jack squat about the Zero.  At least they can't say anything with their mouths full under his desk.

I thought Wanda Sykes jokes at the roast were a bit crude, but then, she's Wanda Sykes. Barack Hussein Obama's "mother" joke was lame as well. The MSM will never browbeat him like they do any other president, especially a GOP one, since Obama has them all convinced that it'd be "racist" to do so.

I caught a few minutes of Letterman the other night, and it was pretty lame. He had some "writer' claiming to have some 0Bama jokes, and after each one Dave would point out that it was a recycled Bush or Cheney joke.

At some point, I think the late night guys will have to take on Dear Leader, or their ratings will slide even farther. Jokes about President Bush will only seem topical for so long.

I miss Johnny Carson. There was a reason that he was and always will be the King of Late Night.

I'm so used to liberals wishing death upon conservatives it doesn't even phase me anymore.

I have a lib friend who thought this was funnier then hell...I'm sure that same friend would be speaking some jibberish about disenfranchisement or polarization if Bush had make jokes like that about his political foes.

I guess Obama's newest coolest qualification for his capability for president according to those shoved way up his rear end is that he's 'funny'. Who ever gave a shit about having a funny president? Jesus! This is what happens when popular culture raises a generation or two though. My president should make me laugh :whatever:
