This is really kind of mind numbing and demonstrates what is wrong with Congress.
During a House Judiciary Committee meeting, Congressman Steve King (R-IA) offered up an amendment to the hate crimes bill to exclude pedophiles from being a protected category under the hate crimes legislation.
Every single Democrat voted it down.
In the same meeting, Congressman Tom Rooney (R-FL) offered an amendment to include veterans as a class protected under the hate crimes bill. Not only did the Democrats vote it down, but Cogresswoman Debbie Waasserman Schultz attacked the Republicans for even thinking veterans might need protection under hate crimes legislation. After all, who but Democrats in Congress hate veterans?

Makes you long for an iron fisted strongman like in Asia and South America. They dealt with the left like the RATS in a brutal and swift manner which involves torture, like electricution, constant beatings, and being buried alive so they can be eaten by bugs and than being drugged and tossed into shark infested waters from an airplane if they survived the brutal and endless torturing. Look at Chile, Peru, South Korea, and Indonesia. Peace, stability, and prosperity came.

I had heard that us Veterans don't need "protecting", as we are supposed to be able to handle ourselves. Sorry, but not every Veteran is a martial arts specialist or a Rambo. Right Eupher ?? :fuelfire:

A seductive idea, especially since it often works well for a time, but it always ends badly.

pedophiles= democrat votes
Veteran= republican votes

I agree that Veterans have been victims of hate crimes and hate speech. I agree they should have been protected.
Onto the pedophiles, the bill protects those with disabilities, but Pedophilia is not considered a disability under federal law.
And I'd like to demonstrate that by saying that child molestors and rapists should die. I hope they die a hard, horrifying death.
Now, does anybody think I broke the law just now or will be in the future?
I also want to say I'm a big fan of the movie "A Time To Kill". I love it because it's sooooo true.

I've been trying to figure out the angle as to why someting so blatantly repulsive could pass intellectual muster. There has to be some political pay-off and it's been bugging me since I read this thread when it was first posted...now I think I may have figured it out:
Planned Parenthood
They're in the business of overthrowing Judeo-Christian sexual mores by hiding the crime of pedophilia. They do this by giving abortions to minors impregnated by statutory rapists even at the expense of rape AND parental notification laws. In other words: the more prolific and unprosecuted statutory rape becomes the more normalized it becomes and the more traditional sexual roles are eroded. It's the ol', "But EVERYBODY is doing it!" argument.
If the pedos are a protected class it could concievably become a hate-crime to report PPFA in the same vein it would be a hate-crime for reporting someone for the "crime" of belonging to a certain ethnic group.
Or am I just being paranoid?
