Title: what's this tin thing?
Post by: franksolich on May 04, 2009, 05:36:22 PM
Before anyone gets on my case, remember that while I see a lot of things, that doesn't mean I see everything, and so I miss stuff.

What's this tinyurl link that leads one to a web-site that is actually another web-site?

whiffleball posted a tinyurl link that leads one to a hate-site even more vile than Skins's island; it had to do with my fellow alum Skins suddenly and abruptly mausoleuming gay primitives, willy-nilly, right-and-left.

Why would one use tinyurl instead of the regular http address?

I'm confused; please illuminate.

It's a way to shorten site names for really long websites.

Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings and never expires.

It's also a way to disguise a site that one doesn't want the url to be publicized until the user actually gets to the site. People use it a lot for "RickRolling" or playing pranks upon others.
