Title: WH Media Stands for Obama, but not for Bush?
Post by: NHSparky on May 04, 2009, 06:55:11 AM
Anyone here think the media isn't in the tank for Obama and are "objective and fair"?

Who would you rather have giving you respect?  The  military as they did for President Bush, or the press corps?  The media is knob slobbering 0Bama every chance they can and most people know and admit it except for the left.

The point being, if there was ever any indication that they cared about objectivity, they've pretty much thrown it away.

And this on the same day that the plug may well be pulled on the Boston Globe.  Another one bites the dust, and yet they still can't figure out why.

I'm thinking that the collapse of these major newspapers may not be such a bad thing after all.  I think that it may lead to a rebirth of locally owned papers which may better serve and reflect the views of their communities.

Actually, if anything, it'll make things WORSE.  Most local and even major papers get outside news from a clearinghouse like AP.

See a problem with that?

Eventually AP and other newswire sources will have to change if the liberal press dies off.

I don't think so--this is just a consolidation of the liberal press into one omnipotent voice.  What you'll eventually have is a few near monopolistic press organizations like AlJazeera, Reuters, and AP, and every paper/media outlet will end up taking their cues from them, much like the MSM takes many of its cues for the news cycle from papers like the NY Times and Washington Post in this country.

I still think the they will have have to change to survive. The big papers are failing because they tend to cater to the liberal viewpoint and people are getting tired of the bias. The NY Times and the Boston Globe are good examples of how pushing the liberal viewpoint is a failing enterprise. OTOH Fox News and the WSJ are examples of how readers/viewers are wanting a more balanced view of the news.

I know lefties like to decry  FNC as being conservative, yet most unbiased reviews of FNC show it to be the most balanced of the major TV news sources.

Could be they were told to stand up or get out when "The 0ne" enters the room.

And another possibility I considered is that perhaps the President after eight years of the same faces came to some sort of causal attitude, but given the office the President holds, I don't think so.

Put it this way--we always stand when a judge enters the courtroom to start a session (at least that's how it was when I was on jury duty).  President enters the room--stand until asked to be seated.  Just a matter of respect for the position, even if you may not like the guy.

Too bad the liberals forgot that.

With only a couple of exceptions, it would make me happy if would go just a little farther with ramming their heads up his ass and suffocate.
