Title: subway cat weighs in on Mexican flu
Post by: franksolich on April 29, 2009, 08:44:53 AM
Well, apparently it's not politically correct to call it "swine flu" any more, and "North American flu" spreads the blame too widely, so I'm sticking with what the Russians are calling it, the "Mexican flu."

It's nice to be "sensitive" to differing cultures, but we still haven't gotten rid of the "German measles" or the "French disease," so our neighbors to the south can't complain.

Anyway.

Here is a factoid as to why some of us are worried about flu and mexico

what usually happens during the Influenza season and the month of April?

Usually infections crash

I was down there last week and I did notice the articles in the paper that this year the usual pattern had not repeated. In fact, they were getting a spike and were recommending people get a booster to the vaccine... and were officially spooked

It was one of those.... hmmm weird stories

So if you have that blase attitude, congrats

I can't

That said I do hope the measures taken by the Mexican Government will stop this... never mind that with the numbers of passengers leaving from the Mexico City airport to all points, we may have a series of patient zero all over

You may want to review what patient zero means

That is all.

The bonfire's pretty large, but I'll restrict myself to quoting just the Primitives of Prominence; there's some hostile give-and-take between the Zbigniew primitive and the "1" primitive, the Zbigniew primitive accusing the "1" primitive of being racist towards Mexico and Mexicans, but that's a pretty stale routine on Skins's island.

16. I'm sort of worried about my mom in San Jose.

She's a tough cookie but in her mid 70s and how she's managed to live that long taking no kind of care of herself is a mystery to me. She moves around in the community and there is a lot of coming and going there, if you know what I mean.

44. It bothers me too Nadin.

I have had and seen too many coincidences concerning this topic.

The way this story broke and the quick urgency,if Mexico shuts the airport and transit. It's bad shit.

There's a lot of hysteria at the bonfire, but it's nearly all hysteria by obscure primitives.

Handing out paper masks and sending their citizens north to let the gringos take care of them? Yeah, helluva plan there, Mexico. :whatever:

Just wait until one of the DUmmies gets some flu-like symptoms and goes to his local E.R. to find a line of illegals out the door and around the block. I'll bet their positions on "free health care for all" and immigration would change immediately.

Actually the last I heard, the E.R.'s were closing because of the illegals bankrupting them, so it might be difficult for the primitives to actually find one.

I prefer the term: Undocumented Pathogen

Spreading the symptoms American viruses won't do.

I'm looking for DUmmy zero.

I don't know whether I should smack them in the mouth for their treason, or give them 10 bucks for all the comic relief their infections have provided.

Punch them in the mouth with a $10 roll of quarters.  That should cover both.
