If this flu outbreak happened under Bush, he'd be on TV tonight imploring us to eat bacon
So as not to disrupt pork and grain markets.
Luckily, we gots the smart people in the government... and Janet Napolitano would like us to call it the H1N1 virus instead of swine flu.
I can do that.
The flu isn't food-borne, no reason to freak people out.
Now some people I know, WILL take the threat to the pork industry as an invitation to do a cholesterol-busting bacon binge.
Ewww!
If any of you lovely people are contemplating Anthony Bourdain-level pig gluttony to support the farmers, please be responsible.
Have the nearest ambulance service on speed dial.

What in the world is the basis for THIS attack on two-term Republican President George W. Bush? Besides encouraging people to go on with their normal lives after 9/11 (wonderful advice, by the way), when did he ever stick his nose in the day-by-day lives of Americans? President Bush wasn't on TV 24/7. I appreciated that.

Maybe they can stage a fly over with Air Force One at the largest pig ranch in the US to show support for America's farmers in these troubling times.

Something about this DUmmie's post reminds me of the sandwich shop that used to be on US 1 just south of Fort Belvoir, VA. They had the best BLT's evah there. They were oh so good, but oh so bad for you. Nobody was losing weight over their sandwiches.
