Obama Worship Goes Into Overdrive as 100-Day Mark Approaches
"The Truth" is stranger than fiction. This is not a spoof picture from The Onion or any other satirical website. The image you see to the right (larger version below the fold) is a painting by artist Michael D'Antuono called "The Truth" that will be officially unveiled at Union Square in New York City on April 29 to mark President Barack Obama's hundreth day in office. Here are the details from the official press release:
Can You Handle 'The Truth'?
NEW YORK, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael D'Antuono may raise more questions than answers when he unveils his highly controversial new painting, "The Truth" on the South Plaza of NYC's Union Square on the 100th day of Barack Obama's presidency. The artist's politically-, religiously- and socially-charged statement on our nation's current political climate and deep partisan divide has been privately raising eyebrows (and voices) since its creation.

Hi,
You took the puke....er words right out of my mouth. I was about to post the same thing.
I do not think this is going to do BO a whole lot of good. Hope not anyway.

The expression on his face is kind of funny...it's as if even he's over all this ridiculous adoration. Of course, that's not what the 'artist' intended.
This crap is just so revolting, and the Christ-like pose is offensive. He's just a politician, people.

It is revolting and offensive and sacriligious and it leaves me speechless. I hope it causes a huge backlash. Put yourself in Obama's shoes. Now surgically remove the galaxy-sized ego and narcissism. Wouldn't you be thoroughly appalled, enough to stop the exhibition? Look, I'm not super-religious, but this is so over the top, if I were him, I'd be afraid of meeting my Maker, after breaking the first commandment.

This is absolutely disgusting. And downright scary. Seriously, to have this kind of attachment to a political figure is reminiscent of Hitler through his rise to power. :mental:
-
Yeah, it's bad.....but then, I thought it was a selfportrait?
-
Where's his TuTu? Looks like he's doing a ballerina pose.
-
Disgusting.
His brainwashed supporters must be having orgasms right now.
-
Yeah, it's bad.....but then, I thought it was a selfportrait?
I am certain this is how Pebbles and Bam Bam see him!

This is no different from People's Temple. Jim Jones did have good intentions and guess what it led to? Same can be said about Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Juan Peron. They all had good intentions. Same can be said about Charles Manson. Oh, they are all on the far left.
-
I dunno. It seems so over the top that I think the artist may be actually poking fun at all the adulation. For one thing, notice the smirk he puts on Obama's face.
-
You could hope that this would have a huge backlash, and it will among the religious in this country, but among Zero fans, many which are atheists, this portrait will be hung on their walls and decorated like a shrine....
After all, he IS the Obamasiah....

I'd like to believe the 'truth' the artist is trying to convey is actually a satirical look at the followers of Obama--poking fun at their ridiculous adoration of someone who is, after all, just a man, however, being this is an arteest, the liklihood is he/she is a leftist of the highest order and actually made this in honor of Obama and probably doesn't appreciate what it says about those who 'believe' in 'the one'. He/she probably got great glee at kissing the behind of his lord and master while swiping at the Christian right all at the same time.
