Anyone here dreaming about an elderly black woman in a cornfield?
You know, she's beckoning you, telling you to come and bring all your friends...

Or are you having the dream about that scary-ass walkin' dude stalking you?

Racist dream, or is this DUmmie on drugs?  :mental:

Never read "The Stand"?

The person is referring to the potential flu outbreak we're facing.

No. I thought the DUmmie was serious.

when I was a kid I had a dream where I fell off a bridge. Very real. I could see the pebbles on the road before I woke up

Stephen King novel about a super flu outbreak that destroyed the world.  Only a few thousand people survived it.  The survivors split into two factions.  One good, one evil.  Mother Abigail (The black woman in the corn field) spoke to the good people through dreams, directing them to Colorado.  The Walking Dude (evil) drew them all the evil folks to Vegas.

It all makes sense to me.  We have Trash Can Man running the nation .... do we not?

Pebbles and Bam Bam are sending us into the oblivion!

I'm wondering if Bam Bam isn't getting his instructions from Pebbles. She seems to be the "Black Panther" of the group.

The Stand is one of my top 5 favorite books of all time.  I am glad it came out before Stephen King went batshit crazy.

Being the anti-social SoB that I am, The Stand is one of my all-time favorite stories.  A delightful tale of a world where the DUmmy population is cut to damned near ZERO, and then nuked out of existance in Las Vegas.

I'd have to say my favorite was "IT", the book not the movie. The movie never really did the book justice.

I'm gonna hafta borrow it from my brother.  He's a conservative, but a Yankees fan.  Ya gotta take the good with the bad, I suppose . . .

IT and Tommyknockers are my favorite King books - both films were awful.

The only way these guys are going to see a cornfield is if they stop thinking happy thoughts, the kid in the White House will send them there.

The Stand by The Alarm

I always associated this song with the Stephen King novel and just looking up the lyrics I guess it is a sort of tribute.  At the very least it mentions The Walking Dude and Trashcan.

Two other really awesome reads are The Talisman and Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub.  You see a lot of familiar faces in these books.

I read The Talisman, that was very good.  Peter Straub's Ghost Story was great too.  The movie probably sucked, I can't remember if I ever made it through the whole thing, great cast, though.
