Does the law allow you to bring a civil suit against yourself? Should it? Updated at 3:17 PM
For example, suppose that you have two contracts with yourself and you see that it is possible to argue, based on one contract, that some money should go into a certain bank account devoted to certain purposes, but that it is also possible to argue, based on the other contract, that the money should go elsewhere.
In case anyone is wondering, I wrote this Original Post after pondering the phrase "social justice." In the above scenario, you would be relying upon an institution (the court system) that includes many people. However, you would be using that institution to achieve ordinary justice rather than to achieve the special kind of justice that you try to achieve when the scenario involves more than one person.

What. The. ****. Over?

So I gotta ask, are ya goin' to hire two lawyers? Which one of your split personalities is going to pay the fees?

I know that the year is still young; however, Boojatta may just have a lock on the stupidest post of the year contest.

This is why you don't eat a bag of magic mushrooms before posting on the internet.

I wonder if this is the same putz that brought up barratry in regards to the pirate drama a couple of weeks ago. His/her/its legal knowledge is pretty much non existent.
As far as I know, contracts in general (not to mention, legally) are between at least two parties. Kind of dumb to have a "contract" with yourself. I'd love to see such a case get filed. I'd bet the judge would too. Right before he fined the idiot for filing a frivolous lawsuit.

I reccommend mediation.

I suggest that this is actually the cause - not the solution.

Classic liberal philosophy.

It should be the Final Solution for brain-dead, rock-hard, stupidity such as this.... :hammer:
We can only hope....

If someone walked up and shot this idiot in the head do you think he'd notice?

Yeah I think someone would notice the sound of air rushing into the vacuum of this DUmmy's empty skull.

I think that this one washed those 'shrooms down with a quart or so of bong water.

They aren't contracts, legally speaking. A contract is a promise given by one party to another, in exchange for a consideration. There aren't two parties involved, ergo, no contract. Boojatta knows about as much about law as it knows about reality.

So far not one of the self proclaimed attorneys on the Island have joined around the camp fire.

I'm going to hazard a guess he read something about some sort of contractual conflict between other parties. He wants to see the issue resolved, perhaps in a specific way but as he would not have legal standing he wants to sue himself to set a precedence that would relate back to the issue that orignally caught his attention.
At least that's the theory I get when I play Let's-oretend-we're-batshit-crazy.

I seem to recall an actual instance of some guy trying to sue himself. Probably from News of the Weird or something. The case was, of course, thrown out of court.
Edit: here it is.
http://archive.deseretnews.com/archive/414175/INMATE-SUES-HIMSELF-FOR-5-MILLION.html
Robert Lee Brock, a prisoner at the Indian Creek Correctional Center in Chesapeake, filed a handwritten, seven-page lawsuit last month in federal court."I partook of alcoholic beverages in 1993, July 1st, as a result I caused myself to violate my religious beliefs. This was done by my going out and getting arrested," wrote Brock, who is serving 23 years for breaking and entering and grand larceny.
"I want to pay myself 5 million dollars," he continued, "but ask the state to pay it in my behalf since I can't work and am a ward of the state."
Judge Rebecca Beach Smith was unimpressed by Brock's ingenuity.
She dismissed the lawsuit Thursday as frivolous.
DUmmie-level stupidity.

Here's a novel idea. Why don't you try to live up to the delusion that you DUmmies always pay lip service to -- that you are able to formulate opinions based on the fact that you are so well informed -- analyze the situation, decide for yourself which bank account is more appropriate to put your pot money in, and RUN WITH IT, you stupid asshat!

That would require actual work being done by said DUmb****. That'll never happen.

In my last year of high school, I had a bong made out of a miracle whip jar that had an oxygen mask hooked to it and an aquarium pump hooked to it. The idea was to really make you null and void. Trust me it WORKED!
One idiot actually drank the water, that if my recollection is correct, was about a week old! He was deathly ill for days! It was right after that I decided Mary Jane was a REAL BAD IDEA if I wanted to keep my brain cells intact!
