Title: 100th Daygasm: Obama ‘asks’ networks for hour of primetime during sweeps
Post by: Chris on April 25, 2009, 12:51:46 AM
From TV Guide via Michelle Malkin: (http://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/24/100th-daygasm-obama-asks-networks-for-hour-of-primetime-during-sweeps/)
Quote
White House officials have requested up to an hour of airtime for Wednesday, April 29, according to TV Week. The press conference, which falls on the 100th day of Obama’s presidency, will probably air in the 8 o’clock hour and address questions of the president’s performance.

Broadcast networks have not yet announced their response, but a source said that they will most likely agree to the administration’s request.

Considering what an absolutely pointless snooze-fest the last prime-time "meeting" was, do you think they'll say yes this time?  Is there anything on Wednesday worth watching?

By the way, CNN is sponsoring an online "report card" breathlessly slobbering Obama's knob celebrating Obama's First 100 Days.  Try not to mess yourself, but you can go there and vote or whatever.  And Jack Cafferty is still a ****ing idiot.

I wish Fox and American Idol would say "Eff You, Mr. President". They have the highest rated show on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and they have had to rearrange their schedule to accommodate him 2 or 3 times nows. And for what purpose?

Obama is going to do what he is going to do. His worshipers don't need convincing. I refuse to watch. So what's the effing point of going on TV for yet another hour?

Oh, he's going to take questions about his performance? Off the cuff questions? No? I didn't think so.

Waste.
of.
Time.

Absolutely....so let NBC, the National 'Bama Corp., carry it.

Isn't that what PBS is for?  Why must this monster egomaniac tie up all the networks?  Put it on PBS.  Anyone interested in watching the "program" will find it and we who wish to hold down our dinner can avoid it.

Why don't they release the text of his speech on Twitter.  I'm sure anything meaningful from him will fit into their 140 character limit. Then there's always youtube, but with Susan Boyle being so popular, he couldn't be the number one video, so that's out.

I really wish Fox News wouldn't cover his speech, and see if their normal show ratings outdrew 0Bama.

If I remember correctly, the big 3 or little watched networks, take your pick, refused to carry a speech by GWB. Conversely, that did not happen with Bubba nor is it going to happen with the Magic Negro.

Even the teleprompter can't be that good.  The messiah speaketh, but sayeth nothing for an hour.

He should have started off one of those speeches :  "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight I'm declaring war. "  Then waited until the end of the speech to say it was war on acne or something. It would have gotten the networks attention anyway, and they would have cut into their regular programming for it.  :-)

TOTUS has been practicing.

"Big Guy and I did the national radio address earlier today. Some of you might think that Big O just reads off a piece of paper, but he likes to use me just to practice. And since our weekly TV show airs this Wednesday, we thought this would be a good opportunity to work through some kinks we've been having lately.

Specifically, we just break out into giggling fits over some of the things the Administration folks have him saying. Like this morning, Big Guy was expected to record this with a straight-voice about legislation that required the federal government to pay for what it appropriated:

"We need to adhere to the basic principle that new tax or entitlement policies should be paid for, so that government acts the same way any responsible family does in setting its budget." TOTUS Blog (http://baracksteleprompter.blogspot.com/)

I mean, really, who's writing this stuff?"

just waiting for one of the "not called on" members of the press to release on the internet the full text of his "off-the-cuff" q&a sessions... before the press conference begins.  With pictures of the prompter.

they'd lose their credentials, but, why not?  not like anyone does real journalism anymore anyway.

Well, if the networks won't cooperate with his plans he can always take them over the same way he has the banking industry and the auto industry...I mean who should think they are allowed to stand in the way of progress of the One as he sees it.

Why doesn't he just use Teh Okra's O Network? She's already got her own TV network and satellite channel. Wouldn't even have to change the name. :-)

Fox says no thanks! They will only air it on cable. Sweet!

Fox rejects Obama's request for airtime (http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/04/fox-rejects-obamas-request-for-airtime.html)

For the first time since Barack Obama took office, a major broadcast network is refusing to grant the president's request for primetime coverage.

Fox has issued a statement saying it will air regular programming (Lie to Me) Wednesday night instead of Obama's 100-day news conference.

"The Fox Broadcasting Company will not air the Presidential News Conference on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 PM (ET)," Fox said in a statement. "Fox's sister networks, Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network, will air the press conference in its entirety. Fox will be alerting viewers with an onscreen graphic at the top of the 8:00 PM (ET) hour that the press conference is available on Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network."

ABC, CBS and NBC have issued statements saying they will carry the president's telecast.

The comments at Hot Air are great. Instead of the presser, they are airing the show Lie to Me. Ironic, no?  :-)

"Lie to Me" followed by "American Idol".  Those 2 shows sum up his candidacy and presidency perfectly.

Hey, with that lineup, their ratings couldn't get much worse, so why not?  Besides the cheetos ad money could pay off the national debt....even with Uncle Eg0's spending habits.
