Oh how I hate Craig'sList!
Just a rant, don't mind me ... but it seems like every time I put stuff up on Craig'sList, some idiot e-mails me right away and says they're interested, sets up a time to come pick up the item - and then never shows up, with no explanation.
I'm not willing to chase them down by e-mail (I don't feel like that's my job, as the seller), and I damn sure don't want to trade phone numbers (the whole reason I went into online sales is so I wouldn't have to conduct business by phone).
And while on occasion I have made badly-needed quick sales on Craig'sList, it seems that most of my experiences have been of this negative type.
They really need some kind of feedback system - though I guess this is the price for having a "free" service. I just want to kick those jerks that are wasting my time and stressing me out as I keep expecting someone to arrive when they said they would.
(I hate the idea of people coming to my home, anyway, so I'm on ultra-high alert whenever I'm expecting a buyer - and then to have it all be for nothing makes me wish all sorts of bad things on the responsible assholes.)
End rant. Bah.

1. Update rant:
Woman who claimed she wanted to buy a piece of furniture from me makes appointment to pick it up - for the third time, having missed both previous appointments without so much as an explanation, let alone an apology. This time she claimed she would be here at 9 PM tonight. That was two hours ago.
I massively restrained myself from writing her the nasty e-mail that was burning in my fingertips, but I did make it clear that I wasn't happy with the situation, and that I would NOT put the damn thing on hold for her. I think if she did show up now, even with dollars in hand, I would tell her to go to hell.

2. That's awful.
It doesn't seem like something so simple has to be so complicated and negative. It seems like simple common courtesy is becoming a thing of the past. I hear a lot of complaints about Craig's list and even my local yard sale site where people just don't bother to show up or call.
The irony in that is awesome.
Rudeness was invented by the primitives on Skins's island.

I love Craigslist! Gotten some really great deals from there! Got a 2 year old dishwasher for $50 and also the car i am currently driving! The lady wanted 1700 for it I talked her down to 1400! :-)

Wow, it IS hard sitting on your ass waiting on someone to show up to give you money for your used crap, isn't it? And they didn't show up, and it kept you from what? Smoking a joint? Watching American Idol? How terrible! Those ingrates, not hurrying and buying your old furniture. Do they not know they could be missing a chair with cigarette burns on it? Or a mattress with pee stains? Some people just don't know a good deal when they pass it by, do they? I think the primative should be thankful it wasn't the Craig's List Killer showing up at her door. Then again, he was looking for hot, young chicks, she probably was totally safe. :-)

I think thats the beginning of an evolution of ideals we are going to see at the dump-
Craigslist is rude.
.. is full of uncourteous people
.. is used exclusively by Freepers
.. Craigslist Killer must be a Freeper.
All serial killers are Right Wing extremists.

Ah, I hadn't thought that far out, O wise one! I think you may be onto something there. I am sure the CL killer will be painted as a reich-winger and maybe even a fundy. LOL. Course they do seem to love Ebay and CL a lot. I notice that both come up in threads quite often. Makes me feel weird when I buy stuff on there, now. I keep wondering if I am buying their crap. If I knew who they were I would go on their sales just to see what it is they have to sell. Somehow, I don't think we have the same tastes in junk, tho.

Well, I wouldn't go that far - though I do tend to think out farther than I should, I'm probably wrong as often as I am right. - However, I do suspect the nitwits on the island are going to try their level best to distance themselves from the Craigslist killer, and may throw Craigslist under the bus to do it. -- Even though the founder, Craig Newmark is definitely one of their own. He is a pro Palestine Obot of the highest order.

2 things I noticed;
Dumb Ass is claiming it went into online sales to get away from phone sales. Dumb Ass is doing it so it won't have to work.
THIS is what you get with 'Free' services. Imagine a health care system like that.

Sounds like InvisibleTouch is too stupid to tumble to the fact that that 'Buyer' may be fishing for info on when IT CAN'T be home so they can clean the place out.
:lmao:

You get what you pay for! Craig's list is free, although you could place a "paid" ad and have the same results with no shows, etc. That's life, get over it DUmmies!
I am sure they will find a way to blame GWB.

The main reason is that Craig's List is infected with a high percentage of DUmmy like personalities.
I also like the fact that somehow the OP DUchebag doesn't think chasing down a lead is part of selling.

Selling shouldn't really be work, it should be easy. :whatever:

Life is hard!!! Whine, whine, whine. Crybaby idiots!!
I've had people flake out on me with craigslist ads I've posted. I just delete their damn email and go to the next person. You snooze, you lose. Also, price your stuff agressively and you don't have to worry about it selling. I sold a piece of furniture recently that got 37 offers! Hubby said, I priced it a little too well lol. I say I priced it just right because it's out of my house now.
