BLOOMINGTON, Minn.—Police in Bloomington say a 23-year-old man is in stable condition after he pretended that he was falling off a bridge over the Minnesota River, then actually fell off the bridge.
Police got a call just before 5 a.m. Sunday from a 21-year-old man who said his friend fell off the Highway 77 bridge and into a marshy area about 30 feet below. The caller said he was driving north when his friend, who he said had been drinking, told him to pull into the bridge's emergency lane so he could urinate.

In other news...
Philadelphia police and SEPTA officials continued their investigation yesterday into the death of a man in a wheelchair who was struck by a Route 47 bus at Eighth Street and Girard Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Milton Boneta, 61, was crossing Eighth Street in his motorized wheelchair when the bus hit him while making a left turn, police said.
In a tragic twist of fate, police said, Boneta lost a leg in September when a SEPTA bus hit him near the same location. "That's why he was in a wheelchair," said Sgt. Lawrence Ritchie of the Accident Investigation Division.

Either the guy is deficiant somehow and crosses improperly in a busy intersection or there is a traffic regulation issue with the lights at that section or something. In the first case, it's still a hit and run and the driver's history. In the second, I hope his family wins a mint since the traffic regulation issue was not resolved after he(and probably others) had incidents there. Given that a bus driver would hit and run, I'm banking it's more an issue with #2.
As for the bridge guy: :lmao:...that's like the worst nightmare come true. I feel for the guy since how many of us have stood there going...ooh, look at me, but didn't bit it and actually fall. doh!

There was a story back a bit about a woman at a reunion party in Florida whose last words were "Hey watch this" as she tried to do a hand stand on a balcony quite a ways up at a hotel.

Hmmm, perchance was alcohol involved? ::)

Just so you yankees know, if you ever hear a southerner say "Hey ya'll watch this!" Take a good loook at the person, it's probably the last time you are going to see them alive.

Pretending is a form of practicing so this really comes as no surprise.

It's also a good idea to move back a few hundred paces. :uhsure:
