Title: Saturday Afternoon Frolic.
Post by: asdf2231 on April 18, 2009, 02:39:18 PM
I just shampooed my carpets!  :yahoo:

Hasn't been done in 8 months due to house fulla folks on a constant basis and the Steam Vac being broken and just recently repaired.

Carpet cleaning is oddly fun for me. I don't know why. If I had to pick a simple manual labor job that I would be happy doing it would be working as a carpet cleaner though.  Very Zen.  The puppy actually stopped actively trying to die everytime the wet vac moved after only 45 minutes.  :whatever:

Went out for steak and seafood last night and then enjoyed the complete lack of juviniles in the house. A lot.  :naughty:

trying to figure out what to throw together for dinner right now. I may wrap some chicken fillets and pineapple slices in maple bacon and grill them for sammitches.  Dunno.

Anybody have anything fun in their lives today?

you had me at carpet cleaning and bacon. :-) I'll be right over!!

It's sunny and 76 here for a change. Just enjoying looking out the window while still wearing jammies this late in the day. I love weekends.

I dunno.

I'm just sitting around, waiting for the zinnias and marigolds I planted yesterday, to sprout up.  The packages of seeds promised germination "within 5-7 days," but given the nature of the soil around here, usually it's like 3-4 days.  And this constant warm rain won't hurt any either.

The William Rivers Pitt has been lush and green since late February, lush and green with catnip and tomatoes, although their growth was stunted (not stopped, but stunted) by a few nights of below freezing temperatures here and there since then.

The place is rife, congested, with all sorts of volunteer greenery by mid-May, but I planted some zinnias and marigolds anyway, to see if they come up and bloom before being choked out.

It's green all over, but more green doesn't hurt.

Did some shopping, returned some things, bought new things.  I'm enjoying an early dinner (as usual).  I don't think I have any other plans today.

Wow you must be feeling better, glad to hear it!

Today is my mother's birthday and she has been Blessed with phone calls & visitors all day. She & I were invited out to some friend's place about six miles from here for dinner, they have an awesome 360 view of all the mountains. I'm looking forward to it. They used to be my neighbor here in Nevada and they are from Indiana....the husband had a kidney transplant and this climate is better for him. They met my mom this past winter and his wife has adopted her!!!

I dropped off her gifts & card earlier to her. This morning I sent her a text saying that I could not believe she was 69 already.  :lmao: Then I had another couple send her a text that said "Happy 70th Pat"  :rotf: I think we had more fun with it then she did, LOL.

I need to give Bad Cat a call to see what time he is done "shooting" tonight at Front Sight. He is great company, a super nice guy.

Just a day of laundry and spring cleaning for me today...Going through my closets and getting stuff ready to donate while making room for newer stuff.
Did manage to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  Made about a dozen and froze the rest of the dough to be consumed at another time.

Tonight I may enjoy a glass of red wine and take a much needed bubble bath with some lit candles... Tomorrow is going to be another day of straigtening up as well.

It's actually not a bad weekend...I don't remember the last weekend I stayed home for the entire 2 days...it's actually quite nice.

Oh man, the junkyard has an Alfa Romeo GTV6.  The interior is beatiful, but the rest of the car looks like shit.

Don't take the chance of the dough getting freezer burn.

Bake and mail the cookies to me.

I am here to help.

My daughter had 2 girls spend the night, so the house was pretty noisy until about noon.  Then we went to the local park for a fundraiser, they had things for the kids like face painting, balloons, etc.  After that, we planted some flowers and grass...just a nice, lazy Saturday.   :-)

Home from work... I hate my job (but don't we all?)  I have got to get my degree finished so I can get away from this sorry town and have a boss that doesn't reward the lazy workers.  :(

Got some tips today from my favorite regular customers who do whatever it takes to shove the money in my green sweater's pockets.  :lmao:  It's funny that, despite my employer's policy on tips, customers choose to disregard it and try to give me (and co-workers) tips as slyly as possible... cracks me up how stubborn some can be and how some openly complain to the managers about it.  LOL

Made gorilla balls this morning() and did a bit of laundry. Set out a bunch of plants for the two kids I have been having do heavy work on the flower beds, and directed them onto two other beds I want done. I'm trying to get perennials in these areas where we can't get grass to grow...just weeds and moss... :banghead:

Then went and had an absolutely loverly super duper pedicure. The hot stone massage on the feet and legs with warm oil, then lotions and stuff and pretty polish....it was wonderful! Had a wicked headache when I went in ....came out with pretty toes and no headache!!

Came home to see that the other half had tilled his garden space and I watered all the new stuff that went in while he deer proofed it and fed the new rose bushes. If this stuff all grows ...I'm sending Martha Stewart pictures and a ..... :lmao:

Staying in tonight and relaxing.....have 4 driveby shootings to do in the morning after Mass....then 6 reports to get done by 10 am Monday. I can tell the banks are getting ready for the foreclosure moratorium to end...I've already done 22 reports this month. :o

I spent much of the day fiddling in the garage on a motorcycle.  Finished up the chasis and fired the engine up.  Cautiously rode it up to the street to the gas station, where I remembered.  Oops, I don't have a kick stand yet.   :lmao:

Going through my closets and getting stuff ready to donate while making room for newer stuff.

I did this today also, with the donation going to the Salvation Army.  Managed to fill up the back of my suv with odds and ends, which someone else can likely use more than I.

Spent my Saturday at variou ballfields.  Not agreat day...both boys lost their games, but they were good games, regardless.   Managed to spend the whole day outside and NOT get sunburned!  Major accomplishment for me!

Is it a bad sign that I couldn't make it through 30 seconds of the new Transformers trailer? (http://jalopnik.com/5217823/new-transformers-2-clip-is-robogasmic-megan-fox+y?skyline=true&s=i)  Sorry, but Shia LePoeuf is too ****ing retarded to pull off any kind of "acting".

This is what your finished project could look like. (http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2009/04/FairlaneBorghini-SS.jpg)  Roflz.

I still can't get over Bumblebee crying to care about any of the humans in the movie...  :lmao:  :p

I went for a dip in the pool and hotub, it felt a little chilly when I got out.
