A lesson learned by a Republican co-worker
One of the Republican teachers I work with called me today to ask me to come and talk to her (It was "an emergency!") So I go running up to her classroom thinking a kid was sick or something. And she wants me to look at her paycheck! I am filling in as our school union rep for our rep who is out on sick leave. And she thinks her paycheck is wrong and wants me to drop everything to fix it for her.
So I look at her paycheck and it turns out that the raise we supposedly just got was left off of her check. (Really a problem but not an emergency) She had another pay stub from before we got our raise and her wages hadn't changed. Then she says "but what I can't figure out is why my take home pay is more"
So I show her that her federal taxes had been reduced. And she gives me this dumb look and then she kind of smiled and said "Now you are going to tell me that Obama did that for me?" And I said "Yes. Remember you don't make over $250,000 a year."
She seriously looked embarrassed. And I had a really hard time not laughing. But I was polite and told her who to call to get it fixed.
This is the same woman who told me she was voting for McCain because Obama's "lack of experience" scared her. And I said "And Sarah Palin doesn't scare you? McCain is 72 years old and has a history of cancer."
Are all Republicans this dumb?
I know. Dumb question.
Once again, Republican is stupid, liberal is smart, and Obama is our hero...

I just saw this over there. This is one of the highest bounceys I've seen from the DUmp.

Seriously, what the **** is with these stories? I've had maybe a grand total of zero such incidents in my life, but these fools seem to have them on a daily, nay hourly, basis. :mental:

Practice, as they say makes perfect.

And so our heroine pointed to the incredible $8.00 increase on the co-workers check and smugly announced "See you silly repuke .... this is what the messiah gave you!" /dummie

I don't think anybody's forgotten, but in case they have, the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher has written some rather good bouncies in the past, some of the best bouncies ever to skip around a bonfire on Skins's island.

What I fail to percieve is why the primitives think changing the witholding is such a grand deal. All that does is make for either a larger check to the government or smaller check back from the government. Really, it's not a as big deal as an actual tax cut would be.
Also, why are they still chopping down trees for pay stubs? I haven't seen a paper pay stub in years, my company does them online.

I've said it before, democrats can be bought cheap. .....now you can even rent'em for $8 a week. The "Zero" economy is getting bad, eh?

I rather enjoyed this Bouncy. It doesn't have any cops jumping out of bushes, but she somehow makes it work for me. While it does have a sort of subtle quality to it, at the same time it has a retro feel that reminds me of the Bouncy Tales of old.
Nice fabrication proud2BlibKansan. Keep up the good work.

You got your $8 now but just wait the the big zero rolls back the Bush tax cuts. Remember when they were all pissing about how the Bush tax cuts only got them 10 bucks and the rich people got so much more?

That is what make this bouncy so incredibly unbelievable. Are you seriously telling me that a few more dollars on the paycheck is going to make anyone stand up and say, "Wow, those Obama tax cuts are unbelievable!" How about we reduce government spending, that would allow us to take home more.

::) Why fix anything? Just count on our grandkids to pay it. ::)
And they got a raise this year? ::)
State forecast: $328 million in the red

...
Earlier this week, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius signed into law the Legislature's $13 billion budget proposal, which spends $500 million less than this year's budget. Lawmakers already have reduced spending on public education and universities, prisons and other agencies and programs that relies on state money.
It would be easier to believe that the Dim teachers got together to cry about the LACK of a raise despite Pres. O's "stimulus" $8.

Um... Has our bowing messiah actually implemented any tax cuts?

Um... Has our bowing messiah actually implemented any tax cuts?
He's planning on letting the current ones run out so he can take credit for re-implementing them.
Seriously.

We're getting something like $10 a week in reduced withholding on our paychecks. It's just enough to mess up all the calculations for next year's taxes.... ::)

Such a lovely concept, sigh

And it'll never happen. Reducing spending at this point means reducing social spending...and the sheeple will vote out of office anyone who seriously tries. Way too many "free" and "brave" Americans want Uncle Sam to guarantee their "happiness." :(

I lost my breakfast at this point. This script-writing is awful. It sounds like a very bad Lifetime movie. Or a very cheesy, hackneyed political ad. Or a horribly irritating radio spot. Coupled with the fact that no cashier was cast in the screenplay, I give it an F.
BTW, this take-home pay sleight of hand going on is widely known and exposed. Go to any blog where left and right hang out and argue. The left sounds like the CNN chick and the right set them straight.
